Eye Candy: Warm Weather Outfit Inspiration from Nordstrom

Saturday, April 30, 2016

Spring layering perfection -- this outfit is fantastic! I'd add a long pendant necklace like this one.

Nordstrom has unveiled some new spring outfits, and they've really outdone themselves with this set! Occasionally I'll see a group of outfits that truly speaks to me and this is one of those sets. This model above in particular has amazing charisma and personality -- her spirit makes me want to buy these clothes, all of them! I didn't know I needed a $600 watch but damn...the whole look is so good on the model so maybe on me...nicely done, Nordstrom!

Inside, more of the looks that are tantalizing me right now...

Weekend Deals & Steals around the webby world

Friday, April 29, 2016

It's another promo-filled weekend around the webby shopping world -- below are a few of my favorite deals. Feel free to share more deals in the comments, and use this as an open thread for all things Anthropologie!

Anthropologie // Take 20% off regular price jeans, prices as marked, and take an extra 25% off sale, no code required (discount applies in cart). // Picks: See this post.

Banana Republic // Take 40% off regular price apparel with the code BRSAVE. // Picks: This floral pintuck maxi dress is draw-droppingly gorgeous; this pencil skirt could be the beginning of many summer work outfits; ahhhh a lightweight 100% merino wool cardigan. Nice to see the classics coming back!

Bloomingdales // It's a shoe sale! A tiered shoe sale! Take 15% off shoe purchases of $150-$249.99; 20% off shoe purchases of $250-$499.99, or take 25% off shoe purchases of $500+. // Picks: This lace-up Dolce Vita sandal looks airy and comfortable for summer; this Tory Burch wedge is stylish and cute and feels like walking in flats; love the mix of snake and leather on this low-block heel from Sam Edelman (it also comes in leather only); I am positively drooling over this shoe!

Boden // Take 20% off your order Friday & Saturday only. // Picks: This top is super cute on but runs large (I took a 4 instead of my usual size 6); I'm a big fan of this knee-length a-line skirt too; this dress may be a little low-cut for work, but it's ideal for date night or the weekend.

J.Crew // Take an extra 40% off sale, and 30% off everything else with the code SCORE at checkout, through Friday eve only. // Picks: I have completely fallen in love with these metallic d'orsay pumps, this work-ready dress is quickly selling out because it fits like a dream and is classically chic; this necklace would go great with the dress I just linked to!

J.Crew Factory // Take 40-50% off warm weather must-haves, prices as marked. // Picks: This laser-cut shift is ready to work or party, isn't the cerulean blue especially pretty? One of my favorite dresses from last year comes to factory at an unbeatable price in all cotton -- this one is a summer staple for me. These striped shorts are very flattering on, the print on these shorts are too cute!

LOFT // Take 50% off Spring goodies, no code needed. Or take 60% off sale, no code needed. // Picks: All ruffles all the time, shall we? This ruffled henley is understated as far as ruffles go, and comes in a cute print too. I also like this fringed top a lot, I wish it came in white too. I'm totally in love with these adorable scalloped shorts (see them on me here)!

A new Anthropologie promo is here: 20% off jeans + denim shorts

Wednesday, April 27, 2016

The Paige Jimmy Jimmy Denim Roll-Up Shorts (now $104) are on promo,
and the cute top is on sale with an extra 25% off!

Not ones to let a weekend slide by without a promo these days, Anthropologie is dropping another tantalizing promo in front of our eyes -- all jeans and denim shorts are now 20% off, no code required. Chambray is not included, nor are denim dresses. (Darn.)

This promotion is valid in-store and online through Sunday evening.

Besides the Paige Jimmy Jimmy Denim Roll-Up Shorts (now $104) at the top of this post, my wishlist also includes the AG Stevie Cuff Jeans (now $135) which seem like the ideal white jean (they are featured in two catalogue looks from this morning's post) with the 7 For All Mankind Braided High-Rise Flare Jeans (now $152) not too far behind, though I wish the latter also came in a straight leg. The Paige Jimmy Jimmy Jeans (now $172) are a good destructed pair, and if color is more your speed the Pilcro Stet Side-Slit Jeans (now $71) are a fantastic option -- though they stretch out nearly a size as you wear them.

Any upcoming full price promos are going to be an equal or lesser percentage to this one, so if you're looking at jeans or jean shorts now is a great time to buy them from Anthropologie. Will you take advantage of this promo?

Eye Candy: Anthropologie May 2016 Journal

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Anthropologie's May 2016 catalogue takes us away to Morocco for Springy delights.
Shown here: the Paleta Shirtdress ($158), ett:twa Tauno Sunglasses ($58)
and Cubanas Peep-Toe Espadrilles ($135).

The May 2016 catalogue is here and it is a delight! From the clothes which are making my wishlist overflow to major proportions to the beautiful backdrops, this is one of the better catalogues Anthropologie has come out with in some time. (Though there is a serious lack of diversity which continues to disappointingly plague these lookbooks.)

Inside, some of my favorite photos from the journal -- or you can see the whole thing here for yourself along with a cute video Anthropologie made on their Moroccan escape.

OOTD: Swingy for spring

Tuesday, April 26, 2016

Am I falling in love with Spring in NYC? You betcha. Am I falling in love with Anthropologie again? More and more. Inside, all about this colorful Spring 2016 look...

All of your favorite stores are combining into one!

Everything we love in one place.

A few quarters ago on their quarterly earnings call, Urban Outfitters Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer Richard A. Hayne announced that the company (which is parent to Anthropologie, Free People and eponymous UO) had purchased restaurant chain Pizzeria Vetri. At the time, analysts and journalists were scratching their heads but I said to myself (and you!): Aha, I know where this going...

For the last several days I've been sharing a series all about Anthropologie's first department store concept in Portland, Oregon. Last Friday (April 22, 2016) the second department store concept opened in the newly expanded Fashion Island Anthropologie in Newport Beach, California!

Many, many thanks to community member Jeanette, who sent along these beautiful photos from the Newport Beach Department Store! Inside, much more eye candy -- and I've saved the best (and cutest) photo for last..

note: It would be a challenge to tag everything in these photos, so I've linked to select products. To get more information about the home items showcased in this post, call the store directly to request a home catalogue or item information, (949) 720-9946.

Discovering the Portland Anthropologie Department Store, Part 2: In this Anthropologie Heaven, there are angels to help you put together outfits...

The delight of opening the fitting room door and loving the first thing you've tried on!
jacket // dress (on promo!) // shoes

As I wandered around Anthropologie's first-ever department store in Portland, Oregon I was mesmerized. The sheer amount of clothing, accessory, shoe and beauty goodies both delighted me and somewhat overwhelmed me! What's a girl to do when she wants to buy a new outfit, is in the right store to do it but doesn't know where to begin?

She calls on the personal stylist, of course. The Portland Anthropologie Department Store simply wouldn't be complete without personal styling services! And while this isn't a new service to Anthropologie -- many stores have personal stylists/personal shoppers whom you can drop into the store to see or book your appointment with online and they even offer the service on their website for Anthro lovers in a no-Anthro zone -- it takes on a new exhilaration in a store so big!

During my visit to Anthro Portland a couple of weeks ago I had the delight of working with Eulalie, one of the mecca's personal stylists.

Everything you've ever wanted to know about a personal styling appointment at Anthropologie, inside..

An early May treat from Anthropologie: Free Shipping is back!

Great news, Anthropologie lovers: Free Shipping is back on Anthropologie's website! Even better, there is no minimum order total required!! No code either which means this promo can be combined with the birthday discount (you lucky Taurus and Aries folk!).

I'm just getting back to NYC after a weekend trip -- this was a total delight to see. During promos like these the first places I visit on Anthro's site are the online exclusive sections for clothing and shoes & accessories so that I can try items I might have passed on with the shipping fee factored in. Specifically, I have my eye on this lovely Peach Blossom Skirt ($148), this cool-looking but potentially tricky to wear Doree Pleated Trench ($268) and this beautiful Pink Lemonade Midi Dress ($178) from Leifsdottir.

What have I purchased and tried from Anthropologie and loved recently that are worth using this promo towards? Find out inside...

Weekend Deals & Steals around the webby world

Friday, April 22, 2016

My series on the Portland Anthropologie Department Store picks up again on Monday (and congrats to Newport Beach, reopening as a department store today!). In the meantime, there are deals and steals to be had all over the web this weekend. Keep your budget safely in mind and shop well, my friends...

The weekend in-store community post

I have noticed a lot of community members sharing in-store deals and spots in the comments of various posts. Inspired by the weekly Seek & Find posts started by the lovely Alexis over at J.Crew Aficionada, I think now is a good time to start a similar weekly post here.

Welcome to the Portland Anthropologie Department Store.
This is what you see when you walk in the door -- surrounded by Anthro!

Last month, Anthropologie opened its first Department Store concept in scenic Portland, Oregon. What will you find in this expansive space? Is it worth the trip? What makes this Anthropologie different from other Anthropologie stores? Ahead of the second Department Store concept opening in Newport Beach, CA tomorrow, why does this new concept matter for Anthro fans? Find out all this and more, inside...

Welcome to the Portland, Oregon Anthropologie department store -- the very first Anthro store its kind, until the Newport Beach, Calif. Anthro re-opens this Friday. Walking through this store, shopping this store is unlike any experience I've ever had. Even on a wet and cloudy spring Portland day all 18,000 square feet glistened and glowed and called to me!

Take a walk around the store with me, both upstairs and down, and see what the store's talented stylists dressed the mannequins in last week...and see some of the unique pieces that only the Portland store carries...yes, they do charge-sends!

(Still to come: how the experience of being in the store feels, why it's different from other Anthropologie stores and what personal shopping is like at the biggest Anthropologie ever.)

A late-Wednesday evening Anthropologie markdown treat!

Wednesday, April 20, 2016

Dolan Left Coast Ribbed Flare Dress (now $100)

It appears Anthropologie sale fairies are doing a few markdowns tonight! Some dresses are now showing up on their product pages as being $100. What a lovely treat!

HD in Paris Ardmore Dress (now $100) -- I love this dress! It runs TTS.
Shocked and happy to see it on sale.

Maeve Elysian Maxi Dress (now $100)

I'm still clicking around -- what else do you see community? I'm guessing there are some tops too...

UPDATE: See them all here.

We interrupt this lunch break to bring you a few more new Anthro pretties!

I usually wait for a bunch of new pretties to hit Anthropologie's website all at once, but the hits just keep coming right now! This skirt above, the Peach Blossom Skirt ($148) was enough to make me stop eating lunch and gasp. It's so pretty! It's exactly the kind of piece I come to Anthropologie to find!

And...I need to have it right now! That is something I have not said about Anthro items often enough these last couple of years but here they are righting that ship it seems. Love the Epaulet Ruffle Top ($78) paired with it.

As if that wasn't enough...

...I scroll down a few lines to land on this stunner, the Pink Lemonade Midi Dress ($178) by Leifsdottir! I am so happy to see that Leifsdottir is still around, when creator Johanna Uurasjarvi left Anthropologie for West Elm I was worried the line would discontinue. That does not seem to be the case, at least not for now.

Though this certainly isn't the only pink dress at Anthro, it's the most wearable I've seen so far. It also happens to be completely adorable. This online-only ridiculousness is killing me though. Am I going to be a 6, 8 or a 10 in this dress? Guess I get to play Russian Roulette and order them all. You're killing me, Anthro.

Speaking of adorable...

...these apple-adorned Vanessa Tao Papillon Heels ($228) come in red-with-pink or the blue-with-green shown above, and they make me so unbelievably happy. They're both beautiful and wearable.

Also wearable? These classic sandals below...

...are from Sam Edelman, the Georgiana Sandals ($85) and they need to be in my closet right now. Along with everything else in this post. And this aforementioned ruffly top. And this aforementioned necklace. And oh so much more...

****PROGRAMMING NOTE****
My series on visiting the Portland Anthropologie Department store will begin running tomorrow!

Adorn your shoulder with these pretties from the Saks F&F

Tuesday, April 19, 2016

The Saks Fifth Ave Friends & Family sale has begun, and while exclusions abound (I guess no 30% off my current desire the Chloe Faye bag -- tears!) there are still many deals to be found. I combed through the sale to find these nine bags that I'd happily carry around all day. This promo lasts from now through April 25th, with 30% off select items and 20% off select jewelry.

ONE // TWO // THREE // FOUR // FIVE // SIX // SEVEN // EIGHT // NINE

Anthro Perk Alert: Shop the May 2016 Journal First!

Ready for May and all the new pretties it will bring to Anthropologie? Today's Anthro member email (which hasn't hit my inbox yet, but thanks to Anthropolitan is here for us now) leads to the May pre-shop page, which is populated with tons of wishlist-ready items.

I was already in love with the Scalloped Lace Tank ($68) which now comes in a new color, and I'm intrigued by the Trouvaille Dress ($168), the Redonda Tank ($68), the Misura Porcelain Necklace ($178) and the Splendid Carly Sandals ($108), especially in coral!

You can shop all the preshop items here. What items jumped out at you?

Nine New Anthropologie Dresses I Love This Morning

I tried the Cafe Dress ($158) on in Portland with these mules and this jacket --
the dress fits like a dream and works with so many coordinating items!

New dresses have appeared in the Anthropologie new arrivals section! There are so many new frocks to love today -- it's borderline overwhelming. Here are a few of my favorites.

While out in Portland I had a chance to try on the beautiful Cafe Dress ($158) above. It fits true to size and does lovely things for curves! I tried on my usual 6 and it was almost heaven; the shoulder straps are a little too long for me and will need to be shortened. Photos of that coming up soon!

Another dress I tried there and loved was the Flared Clipdot Dress ($178), which wasn't tempting me too much online but has a more purple tint in real life than the product shot made me think and I love that. Portland Personal Stylist Eulalie noted that this dress has been universally flattering and I'm not surprised -- fit and flares look great on everyone! Photos of that dress coming up too.

One dress that pleasantly surprised was the Lilt Swing Dress ($118). I expected its high neckline and swingy shape to go tentlike on me, but the dress has some tailoring around the waist to provide a gentle shape and a beautiful cascade down the body. It actually creates a lovely silhouette!

Look familiar? The Canary Lined Dress ($168) has the same shape as last summer's
Saybrook Stripe Dress in  new colors.

For every fit-and-flare like the Canary Lined Dress ($168) or the beautiful Concerto Silk Dress ($228, looooove the green!) there are more challenging shapes that could either be wonderful or woeful on, but certainly have me tempted. I'm looking at the Cirque Swing Dress ($178) Anthro is currently featuring on their site as well as the Valletta Dress ($168) with its beautiful stripes upon stripes, and the shift shapes of the Beaded Fleur Shift ($348) and Vanoise Petite Dress ($118) -- the latter of which I'd almost want to wear backwards were I a petite to show off that v-neckline!

One bonus dress: here's a pretty maxi that isn't online yet (update: now it is!) but will be soon and is in many stores already, the Sierra Maxi by Donna Morgan:

Which dress has caught your eye recently?

Afternoon delight: this ruffly top

Monday, April 18, 2016

...there we go Anthropologie. Now you're getting back to your roots we love so much. Ruffles and this pretty Holding Horses top (it's even cotton!) are in your DNA.

What's your afternoon delight today?

Free People takes 50% off some spring favorites -- today only!!

Anthropologie's sister store Free People is running a pretty sweet special today only -- select spring items are 50% off! Most of the items would look right at home at Coachella; I spotted many a mini skirt and tons of gladiator sandals.

Among my favorite items in the promo are the Vegan Fringe Mini Skirt (now $84) and the Rae Gladiator Sandals (now $150) -- love that grey/white snake combination. The Vegan Mica Lace Sandal (now $44), Barcelona Summer Sandal (now $70), Wildfire Denim Mini Skirt (now $40) and Braided Baby Mini Skirt (now $39) also look pretty cute.

You can check out all the sale items here. I recently shared a bunch of my current Free People faves in this post.

What are you loving from FP right now?

Anthropologie's latest promotion is here...plus, whadja get???!?

Happy Monday!! I'm back from visiting the Anthro lover's mecca -- their huge new Portland, Oregon department store. It was beyond incredible. Much more on that later this week (but you can see some teases on my Instagram!). While I was away Anthropologie of course launched a delicious promo and that continues this morning, where Sale is now an extra 25% off with no code required. You can combine the birthday discount with this promotion!!

Since we've had a few nice promos recently, as well as the now-expired survey discount, I'm curious: whadja get? I pretty much missed out on last week's sale promo as I was too busy cavorting around Oregon with my guy, but I did take advantage of the survey discount to buy three items: the Calliope Pencil Skirt ($248) which I looooove, the Ridged Yoke Tee ($58) in ivory (runs large, size down) and the Monogram Pendant Necklace ($38) in a T -- for roxy of course! ;)

How about you?

Anthropologie's newest trend shop is all about the details...

Thursday, April 14, 2016

// The Essential Flare ($98)

Anthropologie has unveiled a new collection called Polished Details, and I'm pretty enamored with it! Although this new trend shop does include color too it's the beautifully styled black et creme looks that have captured my attention. Anthro is debuting a new line of pants, interestingly featured under the Anthropologie brand without a sub-label, a la the J.Crew Collection or Boden's new Icons (more on that soon!) perhaps?

This look above is my favorite, I especially love the look of the slinky statement necklace over the delicate peplum top! Inside, a few more of my favorite outfits from this latest trend shop...

Anthropologie's SALE is now an extra 40% off

Anthropologie has reinstated its extra 40% off sale items promo! No code is required at checkout -- the discount will apply during the checkout process. This promo only comes around once in a blue moon...so take advantage of it while you can. This promo will run at least through the weekend, in-store and online.

Looks like I'm headed back to Portland's huge Anthro department store to check out their sale room!

Banana Republic's Spring 2016 sale has begun! Right now they have two fabulous promos running. First, select Spring items are up to 40% off. Secondly, Sale items are an extra 40% off! No code is required for either promo.

I've had terrific luck at BR this Spring picking up some versatile wardrobe basics. Most of the items I bought with at least 3 outfits in mind! I thought it would be fun to share some of the outfit ideas I have for the sale items. All of the items shown here are included in one of the promos mentioned above.

First up, the Pleated Chiffon Cami (now $48) in black and the Honey Fringe Sandals (now $130 + 40% off) in black. I found both of these items to run true to size.

Outfits, starting clockwise from the upper left corner:
Outfit 1 Pleated Chiffon Cami | White Denim Roll-Up ShortHoney Fringe Sandals
Outfit 2 Pleated Chiffon Cami | Watercolor Pleated Skirt | Honey Fringe Sandals
Outfit 1 Pleated Chiffon Cami | Gray High-Waist Skinny Ankle Jean | Honey Fringe Sandals
Outfit 1 Pleated Chiffon Cami | Boyfriend Chino Crop | Honey Fringe Sandals

Metapost: I'm off to see the mecca, the wonderful mecca of Anthropologie

Tuesday, April 12, 2016

All photos in this post are from the Portland Anthropologie's Instagram feed.

There I was sitting in my hanging chair, reading a book and pondering Anthropologie's mysterious markdown cycle when my phone rang. Who could it be? I wondered.

Afternoon delight: I love...joggers?!?

I'm not sure exactly when or how it happened, but as I'm looking at my current Anthropologie wishlist I've noticed that there are multiple pairs of joggers there! How did this happen? I thought I used to make fun of joggers (the pants that usually have tapered hems). Somehow, Anthropologie's current joggers selection has not only convinced me that they're cute...I want to buy at least one pair too.

Let's look at the evidence...

20 ways to try one of my favorite Spring trends...

click here to open this photo in a new tab, then click it again in the new tab to see a zoomed version.

Pattern pants...somehow this year I've fallen in love with them! They are so fun to wear and match with solid-colored tops or pattern play with coordinated tops. I've gone through hundreds of pairs and narrowed it down to my favorite 20. If printed pants have ever tempted you, now is the time to try them too!
