Get Free Shipping at Anthropologie with NO MINIMUM!!

Tuesday, July 26, 2016

Anthropologie has brought back Free Shipping!! And this time, there is no order minimum. Use the code STAYCOOL at checkout.

Could this be time to take another look at sale, where the extra 30% off promo continues? Some of my closet faves like the Split-Neck Swing Tank (now $70 + extra 30% off), Embroidered Lace-Up Tank (now $50 + extra 30% off) and the Lace Edge Tank (now $40 + extra 30% off) are still available.

Or maybe it's new arrivals that you crave! I purchased the new color of the Fringed Stripe Tunic Dress ($148) last week and adore it! I went up to an 8 in this dress. I'm wearing it with the Raphaella Booz Woven Heels (now $119) which are also on promo and one of my most versatile buys this summer, and the Chevelle Earrings ($228).

What might you use Free Shipping for?

Picks from the public debut of Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale!!

Friday, July 22, 2016

It's finally here! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is now open to the public for shopping, and lots of pretty stuff awaits. I have to admit that this year I shopped more for my guy than I did for myself -- I did get a few nice things for myself though!

In the spirit of pretty, here are some outfits that include Anniversary Sale items that caught my eye. The dress above, the Eileen Fisher Bateau Neck Cap Sleeve Dress (now $125/after sale $188) in particular has multiple cute stylings!

Inside, the looks...

**Note: some of the items from these outfits may be sold out right now, but they almost always pop back before the end of the sale!!

Take 20% off full-price Anthropologie all weekend long!!

Anthropologie's non-stop promotion wheel keeps on turning. This time the wheel has stopped on a particularly good deal: this weekend, take 20% off full-price Anthropologie items! I went into the Rockefeller Center Anthropologie briefly yesterday and felt a gut instinct to hold off on shopping til today -- so glad I waited.

I plan to use this promo to buy the Lien.Do by Seychelles Cordoba Mini Wedges ($148 + 20% off), the new color of the Fringed Stripe Tunic Dress ($148) and hopefully the Cheshire Dress ($158) too if I can find it in-store; online store inventory checks seem to be turned off at the moment.

This promo is valid both in-store and online, and does have an asterisk that some exclusions apply -- I'm guessing BHLDN, for example, is not included.

The extra 30% off sale promo is also still running!

Also, entirely OT but the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is now open to the public to shop! I'll have a post later today with some more favorites from that awesome sale.

Free Shipping goes away after today at Anthropologie...

Thursday, July 21, 2016

Attention Free Shipping demanders: today is your last day to place an order with Anthropologie and receive Free Shipping on orders of $150+!!

Perhaps its time to take advantage of one of the many promos Anthro is running, like 20% off full price shoes? Perhaps an online-only pair like the Cubanas Stela Wedges (now $143) is in your future? Or maybe an online-only adornment like the Arlandes Earrings ($128), which remind me of hot air balloons in much more delicate form? A belt or scarf, hmm? Check out all the online exclusive accessories here. Or maybe beauty is more your thing, and it's time to check out one of those TenOverTen nail polishes your NYC, LA or Austin friends are always talking about from their nail salons to get you over the $150 threshold? (I'm a big fan of the Prince color myself.)

It could be time to take advantage of the big 20% off select bedding, furniture and more home goodies promo. Could an Octopus Garden Shower Curtain (now $119) be in your future? And a Majorcan Garden Pillow (now $71)? Or would it be something bigger, like the Epoque Bureau (now $719)? Remember that all furniture has a flat $150 delivery fee and is not eligible for free shipping. The 20% off helps greatly!

Or if you are a teacher and have a valid school or teacher ID, you can take 15% off your full price purchase through September 12! And take advantage of Free Shipping today too, on a pretty school outfit like the Windflower Blouse ($88) worn with the Catteau Pencil Skirt ($128), or the Embroidered Sienna Top ($88) paired with the Pilcro Chino Skirt ($78) or the Apoise Flutter Top ($298) together with the Mother Back-Slit Pencil Skirt ($218)?

Maybe it is something else still that gets your Free Shipping delight! What will it be for you?

Checking in with...Banana Republic

Looking to add some extra pretty to your summer wardrobe?
Banana Republic has some serious deals right now. Above, the Pom-Pom Cascade Vee Top (now $58).

Banana Republic has been hit and miss for me lately (mostly miss, sadly) but even with their fit struggles and weird material choices, I have found some extra pretty delights to add softness to my closet where needed!

Take the Pom-Pom Cascade Vee Top (now $58, I took a medium) above. This top is lightweight and the ruffles move beautifully in the summer breeze. It may be hard to see in the photos online, but the ruffles have tiny little bead 'pom-poms' running down them, a cute design detail that invites people to get close to see them. This top comes in the beige color above (called cocoon) as well as navy. I bought this cocoon color and wear it a variety of ways -- with this Button-Front Canvas Skirt (now $35, I took a 12) or this Ruffle Flounce Skirt (now $48, I took a 12 and went for the tall version which hits closer to my knees) and these Emilia Heeled Sandals ($128, I took a 9) in green, or I wear them over cropped white pants -- my current favorite are these Pilcros from Anthropologie (I took a 30) -- with cute sandal heels (I wear a 9).

Right now there is a special on lots of summer items, up to 40% off via this page. And their summer sale is offering some deliciously low prices on items we can wear now and later. Plus if you're a Banana Republic cardholder you can take 15% off your order at the moment (code: BRCARD)! Inside, some of my recent successes that are on sale or promo right now...

Get first dibs on Anthropologie's August new arrivals

Tuesday, July 19, 2016

Fall is in the air at retailers including Anthro, where you can pre-shop August for the next 48 hours!
Featuring the Augusta Top ($88).

Excited for August, and perhaps Fall too? Anthropologie certainly is! So much so that it has unveiled its August First Dibs shopping page for Anthro loyalty program members. Best news? The shoes on the page are included in the current 20% off full-price shoes promo too.

From the first dibs page, most intriguing to me are the Augusta Top ($88) shown in the photo at the top of this post, the Windflower Blouse ($88), Marcela Ankle Strap Heels ($127 on promo), the Cowled Sweater Tank ($98) though I wish it didn't have that inverted v detail in the back, it makes things so boxy and unflattering Anthro!!!, and the Mori Cardigan ($98).

What are your favorites? Don't forget about Free Shipping on orders of $150+! See all the First Dibs items here.

And now your Anthro order of $150+ ships FREE! Plus, killer promos at Madewell & J.Crew

If yesterday's onslaught of Anthropologie promos wasn't quite enough for you, perhaps this will make your shopping day: Free Shipping is back at Anthro on orders of $150+! If you want to try out online exclusives like the Cloverdale Mini Skirt ($138) or the Elsinora Lace Tank ($78) or the Island-Hopper Dress ($268) or the Ormanda Sheath ($168), now is your chance!

Also this morning, big sale news at two of my other favorite retailers. Starting today take an extra 40% off sale at J.Crew (use the code SUMMER) and take an extra 40% off sale at Madewell (use the code EXTRA40)!! Some picks from these sales include the Arrowstack Necklace (now $45 + extra 40% off), the Denim Button-Front Skirt in pure white (now $70 + extra 40% off), the Carrie Dress in Stripe (now $130 + extra 40% off), the Bow-Shouldered Top in oversized Gingham (now $60 + extra 40% off) and the Eyelet Overlay Dress (now $100 + extra 40% off, which I own and LOOOOOOOVE).

Happy Sale/Promo Hunting, everyone!

More new Anthropologie promos debut today including one just for teachers!!

Monday, July 18, 2016

Teachers get 15% off their full-price Anthro purchases through September 12!

Anthropologie is not satisfied with one or two promos, they have to unveil a whole bunch of new promos today! It's a bit head-spinning for this gal as I'm coming back up to speed post-hiking/swimming vacation (a few shots of which are up on my Instagram). Thankfully the wonderful community here is keeping tabs.

First up, if you're a teacher this promo is for you! Anthropologie is offering you 15% off your full-price purchases with a valid school or teacher ID, now through September 12. Now is the time to pick up a fun teaching look that will inspire future generations! (My 2nd grade teacher was beautiful and always dressed fabulously, and I still think of her to this day when I shop.) Dresses like the Cheshire Dress ($158), the new floral pattern of the Paimpont Silk Dress ($198), the Gathered Stripes Midi Dress ($158), or the Pierside Shirtdress ($148) seem particularly suited to this promotion.

Next up in promoland, Anthropologie has taken 20% off select full-price bedding, bath and more items for the home. This promo is deceptively named as it includes everything from duvets to furniture to rugs to soap to oh so much more! You can shop the special sale section here.

Highlights in this promo for me include the Georgina Duvet which rarely goes on promo, the Hand-Embossed Nightstand, the Eyelet Embroidered Sheet Set which I own and adore, the Shag Puff Pillow and the Rose Relief Rug.

Not yet content, Anthropologie has also taken 20% off full-price shoes! This means you can grab still-summer sweets like the Matisse Mystery Sandals (now $71) or the Sandgrens Rio Grande Clogs (now $143, drool) or the Farylrobin Finn Micro Wedges (now $119) or the Vicenza Aitana Heels (now $119) at this delicious new promo price.

And now if you'll excuse me, I have to sort through my overflowing cart! Will these promos reel you in too?

Anthropologie adds new items to sale AND takes an extra 30% off!!

In typical Anthropologie fashion, I went on vacation and instantly a flurry of promotions are unveiled! Last week was an exciting time to be an Anthro lover...wrapping up with new sale items appearing over the weekend and Anthropologie taking an extra 30% off sale items, no code required.

Highlights from the new markdowns for me include the Cameron Dress (now $100) which I'm shocked to see on sale so soon; it's very flattering to curves and runs TTS; the Lace Edge Tank (now $40, OOTD ideas here and here) which I own in every color and will soon have a backup in white; the Polistes Layer Necklace (now $30) which looks great with all the high and square necklines Anthro's been releasing this summer, and the Crossback Cami (now $40).

I've got a lot to talk about this week -- posting may be slow for the next couple of days as I get back up to speed. Have you taken advantage of this promo already?

Picks from the Women's side of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Friday, July 15, 2016

Pretty blue turtleneck top, you shall be mine!

If you're a Nordstrom cardholder, the Anniversary Sale has now begun for you! And even if you are not a cardholder, you can preview the sale items on this page, which includes a link to the men's and women's catalogues as well as the product pages -- though you won't be able to add anything to your cart or checkout until July 22.

I love the idea of getting next season's clothing on sale now, and I've got several items from the cardholder preview on their way to me. I talked about some of the men's items I ordered for my boyfriend here, and now I can talk about some of the women's items for me!

The first item to catch my eye in the Anniversary Sale catalogue is the Rag & Bone 'Singer' Silk Sleeveless Turtleneck Top (now $197, after sale $295) shown in the photo topping this post. Instead of pants, I imagine wearing this top with a midi skirt and a grey or white long-sleeve shirt underneath.

Also on my list, seemingly as always, are boots! So I went ahead and ordered a few pairs to try -- the Ivanka Trump 'Regal' Lace Up Boot (now $120, after sale $200), the Via Spiga 'Beckett' Tall Boot (now $237, after sale $395) which I have very high hopes for and the Via Spiga 'Finlay' Over the Knee Boot (now $300, after sale $500) which would be an awesome replacement for an over-the-knee pair I wore to death over the last two years.

I'm also quite intrigued by the Rebecca Taylor Fringe Pullover Sweater (now $260, after sale $395) and this pretty Kate Spade New York Belted Suede A-Line Skirt (now $347, after sale $578) though I have not ordered either yet -- I'm waiting on reviews to come in. Ditto this Halogen Cashmere Poncho (now $98, after sale $164) which may be too oversized to work. This Halogen Rib Knit Cashmere Wrap (now $125, after sale $208) might be a better solution!

Have you ordered anything from the Anniversary Sale yet? Or are you planning away for the public sale, which starts in a little over a week from now?

WOW -- Take up to $125 off your Anthropologie purchase!!!

Thursday, July 14, 2016

Wowwie wow wow! That's all I could say when I woke up this morning to see Anthropologie's latest promo -- take $25 off a $150 purchase, take $50 off a $250 purchase or take $125 off a $500 purchase! Use the code YAY at checkout. This promotion is valid in-store and online and as of now there is no end date, but I do not expect this promo to last long.

Anthropologie has never done a promo like this before. Will you be taking part? I for surely will, most likely on some of the pretty new arrivals like the Sweetbriar Tank ($88), the Sava Silk Halter Dress ($178), the Apoise Flutter Top ($298) or the Choteau Leather Skirt ($368), the last of which is one of many online exclusives I'm interested in.

I can only guess that Anthropologie launched this promo to compete with Nordstrom's Anniversary sale, which kicked off today for Nordstrom cardholders. I'll have picks from that sale coming up, but for now, does Anthro have you seeing stars in your eyes? (And your closet?)

Preparing for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Wednesday, July 13, 2016

Nordstrom does it right -- discounts on next season's clothing before the season even begins.
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts July 14th for cardholders.

Although I generally frown upon stores rolling out next season's clothing while this season is in full swing, there's one big exception to that rule: Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale.

Every 6 months, Nordstrom offers its new season rollout at promo prices before the season starts. It's unlike any other sale out there and it's a fun way to get excited for what's coming next -- in this case, fall clothing. You can find out all about the sale's starting dates here, and shop the men's and women's catalogues too.

There are several pieces I'm excited about from each catalogue. The items from the women's side are not yet online (come back once the sale starts for my picks!) On the men's side I'm eyeing several pieces for my boyfriend including the Aquatalia 'Carlos' Weatherproof Chukka Boot ($450, $300 during sale), the Vince Reversible Stretch Wool Bomber Jacket ($495, $300 during sale), and the David Donahue Regular Fit Check Dress Shirt ($135, $90 during sale).

Have you started flipping through the Anniversary Sale catalogues yet? You can find them here. I'm particularly excited about page 11, page 18, and page 49 of the women's book.

Two killer sales launched today!

Tuesday, July 12, 2016

Two seriously awesome sales kicked off this morning, both for a very limited time. Firstly, Shopbop has unveiled a designer sale featuring a ton of great designer goodies at very discounted prices. And you get an extra 25% off using the code DESIGNER25 during checkout.

I was drawn to cute pieces like the Isolda Martina Top (now $77), the Rebecca Minkoff Micro Moto Satchel (now $98), the EDUN Compact Fringe Dress (now $195), the Prabal Gurung Silk Halter Top (now $209), and the Dolce Vita Heath Wedge Sandals (now $48). Because these discounts are so ridiculously deep, the items are going fast!!

Also today Amazon is having its Prime Day, where a ton of 24-hour sales and promos have launched. Among them, select clothing, shoes, jewelry, watches and more are 30% off! You must be a Prime member to take advantage of this promo.

Also on sale during Prime Day is the Fire TV stick with remote (now $35). I cancelled my cable a few months ago, and my guy and I absolutely love this stick! We can take it with us anywhere, plug into any HDMI-ready TV and watch our shows. With all the traveling we're doing lately this is a great thing to have. It's also very easy to bring over to friend's houses to watch shows or movies with them. We got the voice remote version of the stick which is impressively good at recognizing both my voice and my BF's well (better than say, Siri). It makes an absolutely awesome gift too.

Are you partaking in either of these sales today?

It's the last day of Anthropologie's Tag Sale!!

Monday, July 11, 2016

Hello from western upstate NY! Anthropologie has announced that today is the last day of their Tag Sale, and also the last day to take an extra 30% off sale items with the code EVENBETTER at checkout. The sale section is looking rather thin right now online and that's certainly a good thing for Anthropologie. Pretties like the Palo Alto Blouse (now $50), Lilt Swing Dress (now $100), Lattice Stripe Tee (now $40) and the Ridged Yoke Tee (now $30) remain available in limited colors and sizes, all at an extra 30% off the sale price through tonight.

What happens next? Often after the Tag Sale is over there is a huge set of markdowns, but the markdowns that kicked off the Tag Sale were bigger than usual this year, so I really don't know! Hopefully something tempting is on the way very soon.

Bought & Loved: 5 Things plus an Anthro Tag Sale update

Thursday, July 7, 2016

The perfect lightweight tote bag, from Free People.

Before we launch in to some of my favorite non-Anthropologie purchases recently, Anthropologie did update its Tag Sale this morning with some Fresh Cuts! Not a ton but certainly more than a few, among the highlights for me are the Lattice Stripe Tee (now $40 plus an extra 30% off), Style No. 4112527771001; the Tillie V-Neck Tee (now $40 plus an extra 30% off), Style No. S4112200841052 and the Macrame Tank (now $50 plus an extra 30% off), Style No. 4112383418804. The extra 30% off sale promo is still in effect!

Inside, five more delightful purchases that won't break the bank....

Bought & Loved :: Anthropologie edition

Wednesday, July 6, 2016

Floreat's Senna Dress ($138) was a surprising win for me in-store!

What have you bought & loved at Anthropologie recently? For me, the renaissance continues with ever more delights awaiting me on each trip in-store, usually followed by some online perusing. Items like the Senna Dress ($138) above made the closet cut much to my surprise and delight. Although the dress is not as form-skimming in the midsection as the catalogue shot would have you believe, it's still a delightfully easy and flattering summer frock.

Speaking of delightful and easy summer frocks, I must again sing the praises of the new grew version of the Gathered Stripes Midi Dress ($158), which is the best color and fit combination of the three patternways of this dress. The other constant in my summer dress rotation is the High-Tide Halter Dress ($138) in green, which you can see on me here. I haven't been able to Instagram much recently, but once I will pick up the pace again later this month.

Other full-price purchases I've loved lately include the Aludra Posts ($38), the Everitt Posts ($32), the Palestrina Earrings ($58) and the Raphaella Booz Woven Heels ($148) which recently sold out online but are still available in select stores. They're ultra comfy for such a high heel and run true to size, perhaps even a smidge big.

Over in Tag Sale land, the extra 30% off sale promo has led to some steals for me, like the Daylily Stripe Dress (now $90 + an extra 30% off) which I'd been dithering on ordering and finally took the plunge on once the promo started. I'm so glad I did! The dress is lightweight cotton, fully lined, and not as thick as I expected. (I was expecting sturdy tent or canvaslike material, but it's actually light and airy.) I ended up getting both colors in a medium! I'm wearing the blue with either the Raphaella Booz Woven Heels ($148) mentioned above or the Jordana Heels (now $150 + an extra 30% off) and the pink with the Lien.Do by Seychelles Morelia Heels ($140).

The Embroidered Lace-Up Tank (now $50 + an extra 30% off) was likewise a great buy for me; I purchased the gold color which I plan to wear with a light denim skirt (shorter than the one shown) and those Raphaella Booz Woven Heels ($148) again.

Some other not-as-recent purchases that are currently in Anthro's Tag Sale promo include the Cafe Dress (now $80 + an extra 30% off, I took an 8), the Split-Neck Swing Tank (now $70 + an extra 30% off, I took a 6), the Valma Tiered Tank (now $20 + an extra 30% off, I took a M), and the Leonie Hoops (now $30).

Your turn! What Anthropologie delights have recently become part of your closet?

Things to buy before summer disappears entirely from stores

It was challenging to find beach towels in the stores around us for the July 4th weekend!

I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July weekend! (Or Canada Day, for our neighbors up North!) I spent nearly all weekend at the beach with my guy and a large group of friends. During our sun time we couldn't help but notice that it was really, really, confusingly hard to find beach stuff in stores! One friend of ours went to 5 stores before he found one still stocking beach towels.

In honor of those silly hardships brought about by seasonally confused retailers (pre-fall is already in stores??? What is pre-fall???), inside, some things to buy now before August rolls around and you're SOL...

Fourth of July Weekend Deals & Steals around the webby world

Friday, July 1, 2016

The 4th of July long weekend is here, and retailers are celebrating with fabulous deals! Inside, some of my favorites (feel free to add more in the comments)...
