Anthropologie's January 2017 new arrivals are starting to leak online and it looks like we might be getting a full catalogue, which is exciting in and of itself to this January baby but even more so are all the cute coatsthat seem to be appearing too!
I can't tell if Anthro's been holding out on us strategically because of winter's late arrival or if it was no strategy at all. Either way, my wishlist just exploded with 12 new coats on it! What are they? Find out inside...
Boden has marked down its sale even further, with some items now 60% off! I've had great luck with them recently and wanted to share some of the items I've ordered that worked out great for me and as gifts for the holiday...
The clothing and accessories in Anthropologie's Tag Sale aren't the only delights -- the home and beauty sections have plenty of goodies worth a second look too! With an extra 40% off sale items are selling out and popping back quickly so the hunt is a new adventure each day. Although furniture and some holiday decor are excluded the sale includes lots of fun items that brighten up any home or self-care collection.
are two of the delights in Anthropologie's Tag Sale, featuring an extra 40% off with code TAGTIME.
My sale plundering continues with a second look at Anthropologie's Tag Sale, where code TAGTIME gets us an extra 40% off sale. I'm curious community, what have you gotten so far and did you love it or return it?
Inside, what I've ordered and the goodies that have popped back online...
There are deals to be had all over the place right now and part of the shopping game becomes deciding which sales to shop. Each year a portion of my spending money goes towards the very fun to shop Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale! From boots to clothing to bags and beauty this sale has a bit of everything that I want and love.
This is the beginning of the markdown season and it's just the kind of sale I love to see. As expected, after being nearly barren of merchandise just before Christmas both websites have restocked nicely.
Happy First Day of Hanukkah everyone! And Merry Christmas too! I've already got 4 gift cards burning a hole in my pocket and I'm delighted to put them to good use during the many holiday sales going on right now.
Anthropologie's semi-annual Tag Sale has kicked off, which means tons of fresh sale markdowns and an extra 40% off sale with the code TAGTIME! Unlike previous years when Anthropologie did smaller cuts with the extra % off, this year everything has been marked down the usual 40-60% before the code is applied -- hooray!
My boyfriend, Mom and I braved the mall today to wrap up our Christmas and Hanukkah shopping. Safely back home alive with all our presents and wrapping in tow (and many wrapped up in super pretty boxes and bows!) I'm starting to make my post-Christmas wishlist. There are a bunch of things I saw out and about that I hope go on sale come the 26th (or even the 25th!) so I can pick them up.
Take the 22 Vial Spice Block Set ($180, above). In real life the vials themselves are not very big -- it's certainly more a sampler set than anything. But I so adore the sciencey-geeky feeling of it; it makes me excited to cook with all those spices! I got one to gift to my friend who just finished grad school with a chemistry degree...and I'm hoping that after Christmas I can pick one up for myself too. From the same store I'd love to also grab the Jacobsen Salt Co. Set of 6 Vials with Holder ($40) or the Jacobsen Salt Co. Vial Set, Set of 6 ($35).
Inside, a few more things I've already got in my online carts to grab if the post-Christmas sales are good enough...
There's just a few days til Hanukkah and Christmas, and my last-minute shopping has been honed to a fine point! At this point most online retailers are no longer promising Christmas delivery (though with overnight shipping it's a possibility!)...but if you have family members or friends who can wait a few extra days to receive their packages or are now on to looking for stuff for yourself or for New Year's Eve, there are such fabulous deals to be had.
Take the J.Crew family of stores. Right now J.Crew Factory is offering 40% off new arrivals and 50% off everything else -- no code required. Their fabulous gift guide is highly inspirational too! Whether it's inspiration for a trip to the store you seek, a little push into a last-minute order or just a gentle take on some wishlist fodder, inside great picks from Factory, J.Crew and Madewell too.
Seeing fireworks on New Year's Eve? Or bringing them, in the Carnival Dress ($242).
Even if your New Year's Eve plans involve staying home there's no reason why you can't bring a little glitz to the proceedings! Who better than Free People, with its many multitudes of sparkle and glam?
Whether it's a night on the town you want to be super sparkly for or a party where you just want a little shine, inside I've gathered up some great pieces and divided them into three categories...
Thanks to retailers and shipping/logistics vendors working ever more closely together, there is still time to order via standard shipping from Anthropologie and get your items in time for Hanukkah and Christmas! Which is great news because they just put all their best gifts at 30% off!
Some items are therefore the same percentage off that they were yesterday but now some have increased their % off by another 10%. Inside, some of my favorites that if you haven't gotten yet, you still can through tomorrow in time for Christmas...
Still doing Christmas or Hanukkah shopping? (No judgement, I will be too right up til the last second.) Or perhaps you've moved on to thinking about New Year's Eve. Retailers are happy to entice us with amazing deals right now that are probably going to go away for a bit right after Christmas -- so those gift cards go towards full price items rather than discounts.
What are the best sales right now? Find out, inside...
Add a little extra pretty to their stockings, like the Paisley Hair Comb ($98 + 30% off).
With holiday shopping just about done for me, it's the little details that remain like stocking stuffers. I'm looking around my favorite retailers' sites for inspiration and ideas (and sales too!). Most retailers can still make it to our door before Christmas/Hanukkah morning.
With that in mind, here are some ideas to fill up their stocking with delightful goodies.
Believe it or not, for web retailers it's the last shopping weekend before Christmas! (Because of the way the calendar lined up this year, by next weekend the 25th will be here.) So everyone's bringing forward their best deal.
For gifts, I like to stuff them with treats, or confetti, or k-cups or tea as the situation calls for. Not all mugs are included in this promo but inside a few that are and well worth adding to someone's collection. Maybe yours? Oh, and there's Free Shipping on orders of $100+ too!
That moment when you realize your pillow assortment is incomplete without this cute fox in your life.
And on your couch.
Community, can you help me? BF and I have settled on a color palette for our new apartment (here it is for anyone curious) and we're starting to fill in our decor gaps with a few things. We'd picked out a beautiful assortment of pillows for our sectional but one of the pillows, the adorable fox above that looks just like our little dog Cinnamon has sold out from under our noses!
It must still be in stock somewhere because the colorway shows up on the website but after searching at least 20 different zipcodes I can't find a single store that appears to have it within a 100 miles of that store search.
If you live near a Target that happens to have this pillow in stock, and would be willing to purchase it and send it to me (paid back fully of course!) please email me. I'm hoping the community can help me find a needle in this haystack.
Here today, gone tomorrow: that's the fine print of Anthropologie's latest promotion, which is 40% off hats, gloves, scarves and sweaters too! No code required, discount reflects in your cart. Also, spend $100+ on anything and you'll get Free Shipping! There are plenty of cute options with tons of stock still to choose from.
Inside, what's great to gift and even better to receive from this promo.
Right now LOFT has a ton of cute designs to choose from. Inside, some of my favorites from this promo including the Herringbone Sweater (now $40, above) which looks equally great over skirts, leggings and jeans.
Pajamas, robes and chemises are so important this time of year; they remind me of the holidays and all the fun family and friendship events that take place around them! I've waited all day to share this post because in my morning hazy delight before I'd fully woken up, I thought the first of Anthropologie's trio of promos was 30% off all sleepwear and slippers. When I noticed many items not showing the discount I figured I'd hold the post back til they fixed the issue...
...only to realize this evening as I'm sharper that the promo is only 30% off select sleepwear and slippers...which...oh. Boo. And of course none of the promo items are that tempting to me (probably because there are only like 12 out of 2 pages of product). But I'd already written this lovely post featuring all of the pretty Anthropologie sleepwear I'm in love with so here it is anyway...but keep in mind these items are all excluded from the promo...sorry about that. Perhaps add them to the wishlist for now in anticipation of the next sitewide promo?
I promise the rest of the post after these pretties features stuff that's actually on promo, the other two 30% off promos at Anthro right now to be specific!
Check your email, Sephora Beauty Insiders! There's a $15 off, $20 off, or $25 off coupon waiting for you
and today is the last day to use it!
From stocking stuffers to Secret Santa exchanges to bountiful beauty and grooming gifts, Sephora is one of my oft-visited stops for Christmas and Hanukkah gifts. Right now, Sephora is running a loyalty thank you promotion: Beauty Insiders get $15 off a $50+ purchase, VIBs get $20 off a $50+ purchase and VIB Rouges get $25 off a $50+ purchase via a one-time use code sent to your registered email address.
Looking for some beauty inspiration? Here are 10 other gifts I've picked up at Sephora for gifts or asked for myself:
1 | The Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Duo ($14) is a great Secret Santa gift or stocking stuffer -- the rose gold/fig is by far the best of the duos!
2 | I'm a big fan of Urban Decay's Naked3 ($54) palette myself...
3 | ...though Naked2 ($54) is great for winter and...
4 | ...Naked Smoky ($54) is awesome for anyone you know who loves her nights out on the town.
5 | I'd be remiss if I didn't mention NARS's incredible Audacious Lipsticks ($32) here. Fanny (bottom row, 4th from left) as a base layer and Claudia (second row down from top, far left) on top make a great color combination and the reverse application gives a slightly richer, warmer tone.
6 | Speaking of NARS, if your skin is dry for winter the 1-2-3 punch of their Multi-Action Hydrating Toner ($32)...
7 | ...followed by their Optimal Brightening Concentrate ($74 and worth every penny)...
8 | ...finished with the Aqua Gel Luminous Oil-Free Moisturizer ($60) will entirely change the livelihood of your facial skin in two weeks. I have not looked back from my regimen 2 years ago -- my skin is soft, moisturized and glowing in ways it never was in the first 30 years of my life.
9 | The Marc Jacobs Fragrances Daisy Rollerball Trio ($49) is a thoughtful and whimsical gift!
10 | But if you have to choose just one rollerball to give, I'd make it Chloe ($28).
As I sink into the delightful mad frenzy of my holiday shopping halfway point, I'm still looking to come up with as many creative ideas as possible for gifts.
Last week inspiration struck me in the form of cold feet. Literally. Our new apartment is wonderful and has beautiful light-colored wide-plank hardwood floors that are cold as all heck each night! I found myself wishing for new slippers and when I started looking at the design options I noticed I kept getting drawn to the moccasin slippers. They look so soft and fuzzy and comfy, all necessities for cold winters!
I ended up purchasing these LL Bean beauties for myself before looking around to see what other options are out there for gifting purposes. From my Mom to my boyfriend's parents to friends and extended family, moccasins are totally on the buying list this year. I can only wonder what people who don't get them will be thinking come December 25th. Shudder.
Inside, some of my favorites. Think all moccasin slippers look the same? Oh my dear, how wrong you are...
Ahhhh velvet, one material I'm happy to see is back on-trend. As a kid nothing made me happier than winter's chill and getting to unpack my special holiday velvet dresses, one of which I apparently insisted to wearing to two weddings and seven holiday parties as a child, if my Mom's stories are to be believed.
These days I still love velvet though I find that rather than velvet dresses, it's velvet shoes that I adore! Wear them with jeans, or midi skirts, or dresses that hit just below the knee. And there are oh so many beautiful options. Inside, I've gathered up a bunch of my favorites.
Depending on where you are in the country this morning you may be waking up to snow or rain, but no matter where you are in the USA or Canada new Anthropologie sale markdowns are here! There is also Free Shipping on all orders -- no code required, today only!
Here's a bit of extra cheer for the weekend: Anthropologie's latest present popup is 30% off all clothing! This promo works on full-price and sale items. Plus there is Free Shipping on orders of $150+! No code required; promo and free ship apply at checkout.
Here are 10 other items this promo is great for, all an extra 30% off:
1 | The Bow-Tied Pony Holder ($12) looks so good on braided hair and is getting gifted to several long-haired friends this year! UPDATEwhoops I'm not thinking with all my brain cells, this item is excluded because it's not clothing! But at $12 it's such a deal anyway...
2 | I love my Purple Haze Blouse (now $50) so much, I have to mention it in every roundup. Runs TTS.
3| The Moretta Sweater Dress ($168) has a subtle sheen to it and is perfect for holiday parties, or just to wear to work during this festive time of year.
4| Although the Lelia Peplum Jacket ($178) has a shorter silhouette, it's very cute over both dresses or pants.
5 | I know it's totally the wrong season for this, but perhaps the Yarn-Dyed Manteo Midi Dress ($350) could be part of your winter getaway packing?
6| The Talya Velvet Shift ($188) is the right material, right color and hopefully the right fit too! I'm getting it to try out.
7 | The Norwich Open-Shoulder Pullover ($148) is a great party option. Runs TTS and looks great over pencil skirts.
8 | Great for all but the coldest days, the Collared Cadet Jacket ($148) layers very well.
9 | I can practically smell the fire crackling when I look at the ultra cute Levi's Plaid Sherpa Trucker Jacket ($178)!
10 | Perhaps now is the time to pick up a cute pair of pants by Pilcro? (Anthro is killing it with Pilcro these days...it's one area where they are excelling.) I'm liking the Pilcro Script Coated High-Rise Jeans ($128) a lot myself.
How about you? What might you get with 30% off at Anthropologie?
Aside from giving gifts (including to myself) one of my favorite parts of the holiday season is making charitable contributions. Tonight, Free People is offering a way to do both! From 5-8 PM ET on their website (aka now!), as well from 5-8 PM local time in-store, 20% of profits from all Free People purchases will go to Girls INC.
No, there is no discount or promo on purchases right now aside from Free Standard Shipping. Sometimes though a good cause is a good cause, no extra incentive needed.
Take this look above. Winter weekends are often spent at my boyfriend's parents' place out in the Hamptons, in their cute little cottage with so many wood-burning fireplaces, including our hideaway basement suite. It feels like heaven and requires mastery of the art of lounging. So how cute would this look above, featuring the Fireside Cardigan Sweater ($128 + up to 30% off) be?
Inside, gifts and, ahem, 'gifts.' (The kind that I buy for me.)
Beat the winter gloom with pretty floral prints! Exploring new in at Boden this morning.
Are Boden's prints becoming better at scale or have I just hit that early 30-something age where suddenly these things are appealing to me? Either way, I must say that Boden unleashed some serious pretty in its newest arrivals! Dresses like the Hannah Seam Detail Dress ($83-$118, above) have given me the winning formula to combat any winter blues.
Inside, a few more new items at Boden that my closet wants to hold and how to take 15% off your order...
Whenever a new name joins my holiday shopping gift list, I know exactly what to get them that first year: a blanket scarf!! Practical, versatile and entirely fun to wear...I love seeing friends' faces light up and glow when they see their new one in its Christmas or Hanukkah box. Even in warmer weather winters we all know this scarf will get at least some use.
(note: no internet at my new apartment yet, so if something big and exciting happened please feel free to go OT in the comments until I can get to a
Investors were drooling the day before Anthropologie parent company Urban Outfitters announced its Q3 results. Were they still salivating after the call? Find out as we dive into the Q3 2017 quarterly earnings call...
There is something about the holiday season that makes me pay extra extension to scents. Whether it's the smell of someone's wood-burning fireplace (mixed with pinecones and chestnuts perhaps!) or the scent of a wreath on your neighbor's front door, or the delicious smell of a family meal or perhaps just a simple scent that is different in each room, this time of year I enjoy taking in the sights and smells!
Perhaps it's these reasons that make me love candles so much around the holidays, both to give and to receive. Anthropologie has an excellent collection of options. Inside, my 5 favorite candles to give and my 5 favorites to receive, starting with the Candlefish Ceramic Candle ($28), which has a soft smell that doesn't overpower -- scent no. 83, with jasmine and amber notes in the jar with the white and golden waves on it is my personal favorite.
After their website crashed yesterday during Cyber Monday overload, Eddie Bauer generously decided to extend its 50% off everything sale one more day (code: ONLINE50). If your man is like my man -- preppy by day, adventurer by weekend, doesn't care two shakes about labels and in fact gets mad if you buy too much luxury label stuff for him -- then Eddie Bauer is a great place to pick up work and weekend basics.
Hopefully my guy isn't reading this post because inside are some of the great items I bought him that you can find for half off today...assuming they haven't sold out yet, which they just might...
After a delightful but exhausting long shopping weekend, my brain is fried! Yours may be too which is why I present this morning's post entirely in photos. The theme: great gifts, all under $75, all from Free People.
