Thursday, July 30, 2015

Note: Today is the LAST DAY for Free Shipping, no minimum order amount required. Use the code HAPPYDAY at checkout. This code also works to get an extra 20% off sale items.

Anthropologie's August 2015 catalogue is here -- and it's full of Fall! Anthro has some go-to locations that I adore and this lookbook has a few of those settings in one place -- mountain vistas, a bookstore, and the woods. The settings are beautiful...how about the clothing? Let's take a look inside...

It's time for another Anthro Perk! Enjoy Free Shipping with NO MINIMUM!

Tuesday, July 28, 2015

And the perks just keep on coming! Anthropologie's already given us a lot to delight over in the past few days and today is no different. You can enjoy Free Shipping on your order -- no minimum amount needed! Use the code HAPPYDAY at checkout.

Perhaps this will entice you to take another look at the soon-to-end Tag Sale, where items are still an extra 20% off with this same HAPPYDAY code? Or maybe you're in the mood for new items like yesterday's First Dibs August new arrivals page? (I picked my favorites here.)

Whatever the case may be, Anthro at least has me interested in taking another look at their site. For those of you who entered your one-time 20% off everything code from the weekend, if it is still active in your shopping cart remember that you can only use one promotional code at a time. I would recommend placing your order using the code that's in there and then calling CS to ask for an adjustment on shipping.

Will you partake in today's perk? Happy Shopping! I'll be back with another post this afternoon.

First dibs! Shop Anthropologie's August new arrivals first

Monday, July 27, 2015

make for a beautiful juxtaposition of strength and femininity.

Though high summer has just arrived in this place we call reality, retailers are moving on to fall where layers abound. Anthropologie is no different and with their just-unveiled First Dibs page for August 2015 it's hard to not let my mind run ahead to cooler days. (No rush though Mother Nature, seriously.)

If this is the way Anthropologie plans to go for fall I'm all aboard -- I'm loving what I see! If your mind is thinking about tall boots be sure to check the page out. My favorites include the Orlana Top ($68) which will be perfect with both jeans and longer skirts; the Vegan Leather Bomber ($188) which I love in the dark orange, though I wish it were longer overall; the Shadowplay Column Skirt ($150); the Garden-Hem Dress ($295); the Birding Tote ($148); the beautiful and flowy looking Larkhill Swing Dress ($188); and the much-expanded color range of the Billy Ella Lace-Up Flats ($168) -- ooooh, blush. Items I don't quite get? This jacket, which apparently even Anthro is struggling to come up with a name for. I'm curious to see how it looks in real life.

Do you have a favorite item from the First Dibs page? You can check them all out here. I'll have an August catalogue preview up soon.

A HUGE PERK for anthro loyalty members is here for the weekend!!

Friday, July 24, 2015

I was planning to drop a major hint about this today on EA but Anthropologie has beaten me to it -- and kudos to them for the advance notice. This weekend only, in-stores and online, members of the anthro program will receive 20% off ALL items. The entire store! New arrivals. Sale. Furniture.

This promo will be valid both in-store and online using a one-time code that should arrive in your inbox -- I've already received mine around 6:50 AM ET. If you don't receive a code try SUMMERPERK at checkout or be sure to check this blog often; community members usually post codes they don't plan to use in the comments. Not an anthro member yet? You can join here.

I'm glad Anthropologie has listened to our feedback -- in the past these 20% off reward days were only on a Saturday with no notice ahead of time. While it's still a surprise giving us the entire weekend to shop is a major plus. Thanks Anthro!

Inside, things I've purchased and liked recently, as well as what I plan to buy this weekend. If you're planning to use your code online may as well stock up your shopping cart now!

Tuesday, July 21, 2015

Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale is finally open to the general shopping public and as promised in my cardholder preview post, I'm back to hunting it with some more great options for the Fall and beyond. (Possibly before too!)

This time around, let's check out some items you might have glossed right over in your sale excitement...plus, if your budget is stretched pretty thin but you still want in, I've found less expensive alternatives for these already great deals at Nordstrom Rack too!

Extended through this evening -- a special offer JUST for the EA community!!

Monday, July 20, 2015

Some extra time to get your accessorizing on with BaubleBar!

If your fear of missing out kicked in this weekend when you remembered EA's BaubleBar code was expiring, fear no more! BaubleBar has generously extended it's special EA community ONLY offer through 11:59 PM EST tonight!

From now until 11:59 PM ET on July 20th, enjoy 25% off full price BaubleBar items using the code EFFTANTH25 at checkout!! That's right, this code is just for the EA community.

Reminder that this code is only good on FULL PRICE items. And there are plenty of beauties to choose from like the Princess Gem Y-Chain ($58) shown in the photo topping this post or maybe this super cool FRENDS x BaubleBar Blossom Layla Headphones ($175) which includes the prettiest headphones I've ever seen and coordinating earrings.

Lots more picks to peruse in this post, which has complete outfit ideas too. Ahhh, the perks of being an EA reader -- a special promo with BaubleBar, just for us!

Here are the full details of the EA-BaubleBar code!
Get 25% off full price items with code EFFTANTH25
*Offer valid through 11:59 PM EST on 7/20/2015. Not valid on promotionally priced products. Prior purchases cannot be adjusted. Must enter the above promo code at checkout. One per customer. Cannot be combined with other offers. Other exclusions may apply.

Have you seen these items yet?

Eva Franco delivers an updated classic in the Saybrook Stripe Dress ($168).

All's quiet on the sale front at Anthropologie this morning -- sale items are still an extra 20% off using the code SALEAWAY at checkout but there are no new markdowns this morning. So instead my eyes have drifted over to the new arrivals where there are some real stunners trickling in!

First up, Eva Franco's delightful Saybrook Stripe Dress ($168) which I tried on quickly last week at the Flatiron Anthropologie (NYC). The good news? The length is perfect, the back is beautiful, and the fit runs finely true to size. It's a little heavy for 90 degrees plus humidity but I think this is the type of dress that will translate well to nearly any season. Depending on your office's back visibility policy this would be an excellent choice for work. My one note of bad news is that if you, like me, are busty with wider shoulders, the combination of the high neckline and arm cut-ins may not be especially flattering on. Try it on for yourself and decide...I'm pondering this one at the moment myself.

More like this please Anthropologie! Dresses that sweep perfectly across the knee, with gently pleated skirts and full coverage up top (a slightly lower neckline is welcome too).

Looking through my closet, I can say that I truly love pencil skirts based in blue. The pattern of the Tropicale Skirt ($118) has me swooning! Its pattern is disparate enough that I don't even care that it doesn't line up at the seams. I would pair this with a simple, feminine white or ivory top like the Malpelo Blouse (now $40), the Shoestring Lace Tank (now $40) or the Aicha Embellished Tank (now $40, and any color of this could work).

Another skirt that I would love to add to my closet is the Buttercup Tulle Skirt ($348) which we discussed last week in the comments. It seems to move beautifully based on the product page video (nice, Anthro!) and also looks to be the ideal length on me. I can see wearing this to some late summer and early fall evening events I have planned for things that call for something above basic casual, such i.e. classical concerts at the botanical gardens, Shakespeare in the Park, that kind of thing. I'd pair this with a simple top along the lines of the Laced Lei Tank (now $40).

The Guilloche Midi Skirt ($398) from the designer is also jaw-dropping gorgeous. So nice to see these beautiful, unique items showing up at Anthropologie!

My jean selection is looking great at the moment, but there is one more thing I'm looking for. (There is always one more thing I'm looking for.) Right now it's a pair of dark, uniform wash jeans that don't have light contrast stitching. I've already given jeans by AG and J Brand a shot with no luck. Could these MiH Bonn Skinny Jeans ($210) be the ones I've been hunting for?

Previously I haven't had much luck with the fit of MiH -- they sit low on the hips (my widest part) and tend to slide down over my butt. How do we think these will fare? As they're an online exclusive, I'll be waiting for the next free shipping promo before I invest.

And finally, I love simple dresses with a twist and the Contrast Study Dress ($228) is appealing to me at every level. Love the color duo, the stark white silhouette screen print, and OK fine a shorter length is workable sometimes. It seems cute, flirty and fun!

In just a few days the August, aka first fall, new arrivals will be online. Are you excited about that? What do you think of these items, and other new arrivals on Anthro's site?

Anthro sweetens the sale pot with Free Shipping AND a bedding promo!!!

Thursday, July 16, 2015

Anthropologie's had a pretty solid Tag Sale so far this summer, and while I know many in the community are hoping for deeper discounts Anthro's trying a slightly different tactic.

Before today using the code SALEAWAY at checkout would get you an extra 20% off sale items. That's still in effect but now the same code will also get you Free Shipping on orders of $150+!!! So even if you have no sale items in your cart you can use this code for the free shipping.

OK Anthropologie, I'll take another look. There are some full price items I'd like anyway, like the Swirled Drop Earrings ($78), the Elizabeth and James Dylan Double Ring ($128) and the Neva Crochet Tank ($168).

If clothing, accessories and shoes aren't really stirring you up Anthro's also launched a 20% off bedding promo. You can see all the items included in that promo here.

Does this motivate your weekend shopping habit?

Playing the {Tag} Sale Guessing Game

Multiple tipsters are reporting that more markdowns are coming tomorrow morning in Anthropologie's Tag Sale, including cuts across clothing, shoes and accessories. This will not be a massive markdown set, more a small one. Anthropologie's extra 20% off sale promo continues to run so whatever cuts do come will be eligible for this additional percent off -- hooray!

However, please note that when items first get marked down overnight, the promo code does not work on the newest markdowns until they've been moved to the sale section, which usually happens around 9 AM ET. You have two options: you can place your order overnight when markdowns hit and then call or email customer service to request a PA for the 20% off later, or you can wait until the markdowns move to the sale section to place your order.

If you don't know what the Tag Sale is and need more information, check out this prep post from last week. And I'm still campaigning for Anthropologie to run a full-price item promo in conjunction with this Tag Sale!

For now, what are you hoping to see marked down come tomorrow? Let's play the Tag Sale guessing game and speculate!

Quick PSA: Two of my favorite J.Crew summer dresses are now an extra 40% off!

Saturday, July 11, 2015

This beautiful J.Crew dress is sexy summer perfection. And it's now under $60!

I have to give credit where it's due -- each summer, J.Crew somehow knocks out one or two dresses that are updated classics. This year I've invested in two fun frocks that are incredibly figure-flattering, sexy and yet versatile. I thought I'd scored quite the deal on each of them but now they are at killer deal levels and I just have to share!

First up: the Chevron Pleated Dress (now $90 with an extra 40% off using the code shopnow at checkout) shown above. This dress comes in four colors, looks amazing and frames curves perfectly, shows off more than a hint of cleavage but doesn't go overboard, and comes in both tall and petite sizes. If you're over 5'6" and want this dress to hit near your knee invest in the tall size. I bought this dress in the light mauve color shown on the model above. I'm 5'8", 155 lbs, and the size 4 Tall hits me right above the knee. The 4 is one size down from my usual 6 in dresses at other stores, but I'm nearly always a 4 at J.Crew (vanity sizing much?!?). It fits like a dream and is perfect for everything from summer date nights to concerts in the park. I love the shape, I love the color, I love pretty much everything about this delightful dress! And shoutout to Rynetta over at J.Crew is My Favorite Store for helping me in my hunt to locate it!!!

The other frock is another winner with me in part due to its color, and it's work appropriate!

Vintage Sky -- a beautiful summer hue, in a classically shaped dress with modern touches.
Well done, J.Crew!

Above is the Perforated A-Line Dress (now $70-$100 with an extra 40% off using the code shopnow at checkout). Don't be fooled by how loose and not ultra-flattering it looks on the model -- especially if you're an hourglass like me. This dress pulls off the nearly impossible feat of pulling off shift-like structure on curvy frames. Some of the reviews on J.Crew's website complain that the skirt floofs out too much, and I have to think that on straighter shapes it does, but on my hourglass shape it is simply perfect. It hugs me in all the right spots (bust, top of the hips) and releases everywhere it should simultaneously. Not an easy thing to pull off, but J.Crew nailed it with this dress.

This dress also runs short so as with the Pleated Chevron Dress topping the post, if you're over 5'6" you'll want to go for the tall version. On my 5'8", 155 lb-frame the size 4 tall was perfect and hits about an inch or so above the knee. Again, the 4 is one size down from my usual 6 in dresses at other stores, but I'm nearly always a 4 at J.Crew. I purchased the dress in the 'vintage sky' aqua color shown above and it also comes in more classic colors like black, teal, and a medium pink.

J.Crew has tons of sale stock it's trying to clear out right now so many, many items are anywhere from an extra 40% off to an extra 60% off! This promo is valid online using the code shopnow at checkout as well as in stores. I can't say enough great things about these two dresses -- if you invest in either one, please let me know what you think! Please note both these dresses are final sale, though I've never had a problem returning even final sale items to J.Crew after a call to customer service to clear the way.

One of my favorite shopping days of the year has arrived! I love fall clothing...layering, wrapping up in warm, soft materials, wearing tall boots, and so on. Hard as it is to believe, retailers are already turning their eye towards fall and some, like Nordstrom, are getting in on the action super early!

Inside, what looks really great...

Anthro APB: Can you help me find this dress?

Wednesday, July 8, 2015

Community: can you help me? A friend of mine who has helped me hunt down several nearly impossible-to-find Anthropologie items has now turned to me asking for help in finding the beautiful dress you see above, Leifsdottir's Floristitched Midi Dress. After over a month of hunting I've come up totally dry and I'm hoping someone in the EA readership might have this dress available to her.

This dress is from Summer 2013. She is hoping to locate it in a size 4, though a 6 could also work with tailoring. We're hoping to locate it at the sale price or lower. If you own this dress and are willing to part with it, please contact me!

Investigating Anthropologie's latest new arrivals

Monday, July 6, 2015

The Alarie Dress ($298) is either really amazing, or really weird.
I can't decide which.

Summer is in full swing and with each passing day I'm a bit more in the mood for tank tops, shorts and lightweight clothing. Anthropologie is slowly uploading its newest items for this month. We've already taken a look at many of the catalogue items; now let's explore the new non-catalogue goodies!

Weekend {Tag} Sale Open Discussion Thread

Friday, July 3, 2015

Anthropologie's semi-annual Tag Sale had a pretty big week...you can take an extra 20% off all sale items in-store or online using the code SALEAWAY at checkout. Yesterday saw a bunch of new markdowns! If you don't know what the Tag Sale is or what it's all about, this post should help. Or just skip straight to shopping it here.

Please use this thread to discuss all things Anthropologie-related this weekend. If the Tag Sale isn't doing much for you, how about the new July catalogue items? We'll cover more new arrivals next week.

Happy 4th of July to all of my USA readers! My Hawaii vacation wraps up this weekend and I'll be back home in NYC soon. (Though if I could, I'd stay on Kauai a lot longer!)

{Weekly} Popbacks Open Thread

By request of the community comes this weekly post. Please use this post to list website popbacks that you see on your wishlist, via search engines, or in your shopping cart. Popbacks go very quickly but hopefully by having them in one place will be helpful. Please do not use this post for store sightings.

Anthropologie's Tag Sale sees new markdowns!!!

Thursday, July 2, 2015

Anthropologie's Tag Sale rolls on this morning with new markdowns! If you're reading this post overnight on the East Coast, the extra 20% off sale items using the code SALEAWAY at checkout will not work until Anthro moves the newest sale items into the fresh cuts sale section, which usually happens around 9 AM ET. Until then, you can place orders and email or call customer service during business hours to request a price adjustment (PA) for the extra 20% off. (The code may start working on these newest cuts earlier, but no guarantees.)

Here are some highlights from the freshest cuts:
Andromeda Swing Dress (now $100), Style No. 4130209024200
Beaded Elefant Tank (now $70), Style No. 4110089548153
Confetti Fete Dress (now $230), Style No. 4130214201512
Coral Tree Dress (now $150), Style No. 4130200891226
Cutwork Mesh Buttondown (now $50), Style No. 4112336109866
Dancette Knit Dress (now $80), Style No. 4130204584171
Dip-Dyed Open Back Tank (now $40), Style No. 4112597151735

Lustra Dress (now $100), Style No. 4130403041629
Mitered Stripe Dress (now $100), Style No. 4130335960498
Nahla Maxi Dress (now $90), Style No. 4130224211136
Peachtree Dress (now $100), Style No. 4130403041611
Poppy Stripe Petite Top (now $60), Style No. 4110403041110
Sightseer Cargo Shorts (now $40), Style No. 34781062
Verda Maxi Dress (now $100, review), Style No. 4130339188012
Verdure Shift (now $120), Style No. 4130204588800

Will you be partaking in Tag Sale goodness today? I plan to buy both the Peachtree Dress (now $100) and the Sightseer Cargo Shorts (now $40) at least. If nothing from today's sale is interesting you, perhaps the newest July items might?

Playing the {Tag} Sale Guessing Game

Wednesday, July 1, 2015

More markdowns are on the way tomorrow according to two well-placed tipsters. During the Tag Sale fresh cuts tend to be pretty small, so I'm not expecting too much in the way of new sale items tomorrow. However, we may see 2nd/3rd/etc cuts. Anthropologie's extra 20% off sale promo is running now so whatever cuts do come will be eligible for this additional percent off -- hooray!

Eye Candy: Anthropologie July 2015 Catalogue

Anthropologie has started the slow drip of new July releases, and some catalogue preview shots for their July 2015 Lookbook have made it online! Update: You can see the entire July 2015 lookbook hereIt's nice to see more summery stuff (hard to believe but the August catalogue will turn its eye towards fall already). I love the look of many of these shots and I did add a few items to my wishlist. Let's peek at some more images inside...
