Shop Anthropologie's July new arrivals first!!

Monday, June 29, 2015

Aloha from the calm northern shores of Kauai, where it's 6 AM and I was just about to head out on my morning run around Princeville (you can share some of my adventures via my Instagram!) when I noticed this first dibs email from Anthropologie featuring July's new arrivals!

These arrivals aren't yet available to the general public online, though I'm pretty sure I'd seen at least a couple of these things in stores before heading over to the Hawaiian islands. (I'll be visiting Anthro's new store on Oahu, its first in Hawaii, late this week!) Interestingly, while the last few pre-shops have been several pages long this one is just one lonely page that's pretty short. Not sure what's Anthropologie's thought behind that is, though based on what I'd seen in-store I am very excited to see the rest of July's new arrivals.

From the page, here's what I'm digging: the Mira Tank ($78) and the Vivi Lace Tank ($88) of course, because I'm enamored with nearly every white tank in existence; the Guilhermina Rattler Wrap-Around Flats ($188) -- I love this lace-up style; the Embroiderd Chaparral Tunic ($98) which looks like the perfect top to throw on over a pair of shorts or a simple slipdress; and the Strands Cuff ($38) seems to be a less expensive version of the fine jewelry I've been drooling over on Anthro's site recently. Check out all the pre-shop items for yourself here. Thoughts?

In other new arrivals goodness, since I've now seen a few conversations about it in the comments, I wanted to mention that there is a new colorway of Byron Lars' GORGEOUS Laced Peplum Jacket ($228) in stores...has not hit the website yet. I'm guessing it will be online at the same time as the new catalogue shots. I purchased the new black/white version about a week and a half ago now and I can't wait to wear it. It ran TTS for me (I am an 8 in jackets) though note that the waist is very cinched so if you are an apple shape you may need to size up. Can't wait til the pretty new version is online for all to see!

In Tag Sale news...well there really isn't much to update you with at this time. The extra 20% off sale promotion continues (details here)...there's no free shipping to speak of (though there rarely is during Tag Sale time) and so far Anthropologie has not heeded our call for a promo on new items either. I'm not sure what will happen this week since the extra 20% off sale hit a week earlier than it usually does; but this seems to bode well for possible additional cuts before the Tag Sale ends. If you're wondering what a Tag Sale even is, check out this post.

Anthropologie's {Tag} Sale goes on sale!!!

Friday, June 26, 2015

Aloha! I'm waking up to news from Hawaii that you may already know -- Anthropologie's sale has just gone an extra 20% off! Use the code SALEAWAY at checkout. The Tag Sale continues to chug away...will you partake in this extra % off?

Some quick picks from my wishlist: the Peony Garden Dress ($120 before the discount), the Glenzie Turban ($20 before discount -- I've been wearing the red motif version a lot in Hawaii!), the Prairie Blossom Peasant Blouse ($60 before discount), the Bellflower Linen Tunic ($90 before discount), the Ranunculus Bloom Shorts ($60 before discount) and the Lace-Veiled Pencil Skirt ($90 before disocunt).

Playing the {Tag} Sale Guessing Game

Wednesday, June 24, 2015

An amazing tipster tells me that more markdowns are on the way tomorrow for Anthropologie's Tag Sale! (Still no extra % off sale expected...that is more likely to come next week.) I'm not expecting a big sale tomorrow; last week's markdowns were huge and Anthropologie usually holds out as long as possible on Spring/Summer markdowns.

If you don't know what the Tag Sale is and need more information, check out this prep post from last week. And I'm still campaigning for Anthropologie to run a full-price item promo in conjunction with this Tag Sale!

In the meantime, let's guess about what may be marked down come tomorrow...

Anthropologie, did you name this dress after me? (And a couple other random musings)

Tuesday, June 23, 2015

Yup, this is totally a Thea Dress ($188).

My given name is pretty rare...and when I was a kid it was even more rare that someone would say it correctly. These days Thea (roxy is my beloved nickname) is a little more popular, thanks in part to TV shows like Arrow and celebs searching for children names that aren't frequently used. Although then they become more frequently used, so...

When I saw HD in Paris's Thea Dress ($188) my first instinct was to run out to a store to try it on...but of course it is an online exclusive. I'll wait for the next shipping promo instead. What a kick though! Not only is the dress definitely right up my alley, it's also modeled by my favorite model, giving her classic "Yeah I look good, what of it?" smirk that I adore.

This dress. I wants it!

In this outfit: the Pointelle Colonnade Cardigan ($228), V-Neck Camisole (now $20),

Love the styling of this look! I have to say that when Anthropologie's styling team is on fire, I save at least 5 to 8 new outfit ideas down to my clipbook each week. I love the beachy vibe of this outfit and kinda wish I'd seen it earlier, before embarking on my trip. Oh well! It will look just as good when I get home.

The Bon Voyage Dress ($168) sure looks familiar!

I was delighted beyond delight to see the Bon Voyage Dress, aka the Schooner Dress from Girls From Savoy now being offered at Anthropologie! I reviewed the original last summer in this post and was actually just thinking about how I can't wait to wear this dress on Cape Cod later this summer.

The dress has changed slightly from its GFS-produced days. It's now alpha-sized for one thing; the dress I tried was numero-sized. Note that the pattern placement will vary from dress to dress -- if you can get to a store to try this one it's worth it.

What's gorgeous to you this fine Tuesday? We'll play the Sale Guessing Game tomorrow...a little birdie tells me markdowns are on the way on Thursday.

Ten new favorites that made my vacation suitcase

Monday, June 22, 2015

The packing is nearly done and as I hopefully whittle down my suitcase from wanting to pack nearly everything I own to a good balance between things I really, really want to wear and things that are both practical and pretty, I thought it would be fun to share some recent buys that are for sure heading on vacation with me.

Inside, details on this glorious stuff, what I'm wearing each item with, plus details on some items that are not new but are also coming along...

Eye Candy: Effortless Anthro Reader Outfits

Sunday, June 21, 2015

Joanna (taken at the Boston Anthropologie's Spring Fashion Show)

Happy Summer, Happy Father's Day, and Happy Readers Outfit day!!! This post is sure to brighten up even the rainest, most humid, most frizzy-hair inducing day (maybe that's just me) and inspire your wishlist, shopping cart or perhaps closet to explode.

Thanks to every contributor this round and thanks to you for showing these lovely ladies some love in the comments!!

Off Topic: The store I'm turning to for basics at a great price

Saturday, June 20, 2015

A complete look for under $150 -- shoes and jewelry included.

I feel a bit strange writing this post...as I'm typing it, I'm thinking: weird but true. A few extended family members have recently graduated college and need good-quality yet affordable career clothing. Two of my friends are returning to the workforce after having babies in the last year and need to buy some new wardrobe pieces, both work and casual, with overlap helpful. Another friend of mine has too many patterns and prints in her closet and is lacking closet staples. And I'm all pointing them to the same store.

Where? I can't believe the answer myself...

Dear Anthropologie: How about a new arrivals promo to go along with the Tag Sale?!?

Friday, June 19, 2015

Hmm. The Embroidered Chambray Dress ($148) might be a great last-second
addition to my Hawaii vacation suitcase.

Whoa. Has Anthropologie been holding out on us? Or have they simply saved the best summer 2015 new arrivals for last? I was pretty pleased with the last round of new arrivals earlier this month (explored in this post). Maybe it's because I'm in beach mode or vacation mode or whatever now, but looking at the newest pieces on Anthro's site, I said WOW more than once!

I have a great idea Anthropologie. Throw your loyal fans one beautiful bone. Want to up your revenue in a big way for the quarter? In addition to the Tag Sale, give us a one-day promo on the entire store, during the Tag Sale. Give us another 15% off anthro Day (20% would be even better!) to stoke our incentive to both clear out your overstuffed sale section and buy a lot of new goodies too.

I know I would! Let's take a look at some of the newest pretties that just landed in my shopping cart...

Now it's OFFICIALLY Tag Sale Time at Anthropologie!!

Thursday, June 18, 2015

Thanks to this community's amazing and awesome tipsters, we've known about Anthropologie's Tag Sale since Tuesday -- but for the rest of the world today is the day that they learn about markdowns, markdowns, markdowns.

You can see all my picks from this sale here. As of now, there is no extra % off sale -- it looks like true to history that will be kicking in around the July 4th weekend. I don't see any new markdowns since Tuesday but I did catch a few items when I spun through earlier this week, like the Refraction Raffia Tote (now $50), the Sarette Sun Hat (now $40), the Sitar Pouch (now $50), the J Brand 8112 Rail Jeans (now $100, probably my favorite J Brand fit ever), the Juni Sleeveless Top (now $70), the Melia Dress (now $120) and the Nimbus Petite Dress (now $80).

Have you done any Tag Sale hauling yet? I've picked up a few items so far, with more to come. Wondering what the heck a Tag Sale is? All the info you want, right in this post. Feel free to use this post to list popbacks, such as the Laced Peplum Jacket, in a size 0, backordered. And don't forget Reader Outfits return this weekend -- send me your look!!!

The June 2015 Anthropologie Tag Sale prep post

Monday, June 15, 2015

Anthropologie's semi-annual Tag Sale returns this week!! Although this sale isn't quite the big deal it used to be, the last few rounds have been full of twists, turns and surprises sure to delight most any sale lover. These days sales and promotions are more frequent, so the Tag Sale isn't quite the huge deal it once was. It's still a lot of fun though!

Inside, What is the Tag Sale? And what can you expect? Explanations, rumors and guesses inside. Thanks as always to the generous employee tips that helped compile this post. We'll play the Tag Sale Guessing Game later today!

Dress up your closet a bit courtesy of Anthropologie's weekend promo!!!

Friday, June 12, 2015

The Mixed Stripe Tunic ($168) -- long enough to actually be a dress!

Anthropologie is making every weekend a little special right now! This weekend's promotion is here and it's a good one: 25% off dresses. Good on regular price and sale dresses; online and in-store. Use the code DRESSDAYS at checkout.

My picks? I've got a bunch right now. From the realistic category, the Colorblock Tweed Shift ($275) and the Fara Boatneck Sheath ($275) have work potential written all over them. Then there are several more dresses I'm in love with...the Peony Garden Dress ($228), the Dainty Daisies Dress ($355), the Gouache Garden Silk Swing Dress ($378), the super-cute Diamond Denim Dress ($178), the Textured Double-V Dress ($148) in the new blue motif pattern, white lacey options the Modena Lace Dress ($398) and the Bruxelles Lace Dress ($295), and the admittedly short-looking Verdure Shift ($198). The Sketchbook Midi Dress ($148) is totally calling my name too! I love the light grey version...which is not light grey at all but rather ivory with colorful, beautiful stripes.

In the aspirational category, I wish I had an occasion for the Sakura Blossoms Gown ($275). The Lavandou Dress ($595) is OMG gorgeous, and the breathtaking Magnolia Grove Gown ($1,295) is another stunner from Sachin + Babi's Noir line.

Checking out the sale section, the Nautique Shift (now $100), Sea Isle Striped Dress (now $120), and Despoina Silk Maxi Dress (now $140) become even more appealing investments after the extra 25% off is factored in. Perhaps there will be popbacks today to add to the fun? Remember that for popbacks, the extra 25% may not work so if it doesn't appear discounted in your cart you'll want to either call CS to order or call them after your order is placed for an adjustment.

What dress is most likely to get your investment in this Anthropologie promo? Check out the latest frocks here or sale dresses here.

Call for Reader Outfit submissions!!

The Blue Toile Jumpsuit from Spring 2013.

Summer is slowly unfolding itself (unofficially if not yet officially) and it feels like time to do another round of Reader Outfits! It's one of the community's favorite posts and it's so fun seeing a mix of regular contributors and new faces.

This post will run one week from Sunday. Please submit your outfit to me via email no later than Saturday June 20th at 3 PM ET.

Summer shopping just got a little easier thanks to Anthropologie's latest promo!!

Friday, June 5, 2015

Two items high on my Anthropologie wishlist: the Eyelet Poplin Blouse ($88) and and Tiled Tide Shorts ($78).
Both are 20% off right now!

Ahh, this is the promo I've been hoping for! For a limited time (which means at least this weekend, possibly longer) Anthropologie is offering 20% off its full price tops and shorts. This promotion is valid both in-store and online. No code is required on the website for the 20% off -- discounted prices will reflect at checkout. For online shoppers Anthro is making the deal a little better by throwing in Free Shipping on orders of $150+Use the code FS150 at checkout. For anyone wondering about PAs, the official line as always is no price adjustments on previous purchases...but it never hurts to ask.

I'd been hoping for this exact promo before I head to Oahu and Kauai later this month for return visits. I'll most likely use the 20% towards the outfit at the top of this post, plus the Avie Tunic ($98), the Cutwork Mesh Buttondown ($98), the Cut-Out Slub Tee ($48), the Ingleside Pullover ($88), the Level 99 Cuffed Cargo Shorts ($68) in a couple of colors and the Sightseer Cargo Shorts ($78).

There are some other items that look tempting too...the Crochet Bib Tee ($58), the Devan Buttondown ($88), the Walina Lace Top ($98), the Valley Green Tank ($78 -- whoa, how did I misss this before?!?), the Scalloped Lacework Shorts ($88, love the blue version) and the Pilcro Stet Denim Roll-Ups ($78).

I can also highly recommend the Aicha Embellished Tank ($68), which runs true to size. I picked up the white in my usual medium and I adore it! Will likely pick up the blue too once the top hits sale. Another fabulous option within this promo.

You can see all the items included in this promo here. It's worth scrolling through all six pages -- there are some real gems towards the end!

Feel free to use this post to list popbacks!! Will you take advantage of this weekend's tops and shorts promo?

Investigating Anthropologie's newest Summer 2015 arrivals

Wednesday, June 3, 2015

I'm not sure if I actually like the Lacefall Dress ($628) or not, but I certainly love the styling here!

Earlier this week we covered all the goodies in Anthropologie's just-launched June 2015 Lookbook. Now it's time to examine some of the other recent new arrivals that have landed on my wishlist...or given me a good giggle.

Today is also the last day for FREE SHIPPING NO MINIMUM. (Use the code 2DAYTREAT at checkout.) Many of the picks inside are online exclusives, in case you need a little extra incentive to try them out...
