Anthropologie's Chevy Chase accessories store is turning into...

A photo taken by Anthroyogi at Anthropologie's first Accessories store opening
in Chevy Chase Maryland in November of 2010.

Update: the boutique will open Friday, August 9, 2013!

One of Anthropologie's concept stores is about to be overhauled. Back in 2010 Anthropologie opened its first Accessories-only store in Chevy Chase, Maryland. (Jog your memory here or see the photos here.) After nearly three years Anthro's decided its time for something else to take over the space. What could it be?

Artist Interview: Meet Jewelry Designer Peggy Li!!

The Thorned Heart Necklace, one of the many beautiful jewelry creations by Peggy Li.

Although I only recently discovered Peggy Li's amazing jewelry, I'm already a huge fan! Her designs combine many of my favorite elements -- elegant simplicity, fine-crafted details and a nod to nature. Thanks to the good word spread in part by the community here Ms. Li agreed to sit down for an interview so the EA community could learn more about her designs, her background and her artistry! I'm delighted to share her story with you and Ms. Li is offering a thank you for the community too!

Ready to meet her? Interview after the jump.

Playing the Sale Guessing Game

I was delightfully surprised when Anthropologie had its second straight week of clothing markdowns last week! Is three weeks in a row too much to ask? Perhaps, but even if there are no more fresh cuts tomorrow morning it sure would be nice to see 2nd/3rd/etc cuts, or maybe markdowns in shoes? What are you hoping for tomorrow? Let's play the Sale Guessing Game and discuss!

Anthropologie Archival Collection reviews: Sightseer Pencil Skirt, Duck Cord Skirt, Vine Skirt, Ruffle Skirt, Daisy Dress, Tropics Dress, Regatta Dress, Embroidered Sweater Coat

Oh you're so cute Anthropologie.

Anthropologie fans have asked for a good long time and the retailer has finally delivered -- to celebrate its 20th anniversary Anthro is re-releasing some of its favorite designs in a special Archival Collection. (Get the full details here.) This collection features 20 designer favorites slightly rethought and updated to a 2013 silhouette. They are available online and in the Rockefeller Center Anthropologie in NYC. While I didn't get a chance to try on the No. 2 Pencil Skirt ($118) shown above, I did try on several of the pieces in this special collection.

The weekend in-store community post

I have noticed a lot of community members sharing in-store deals and spots in the comments of various posts. Inspired by the weekly Seek & Find posts started by the lovely Alexis over at J.Crew Aficionada, I think now is a good time to start a similar weekly post here.

{Weekly} Popbacks Open Thread

Note: Reader Outfits will run on Sunday. (To send your Reader Outfit in, simply email me.)

By request of the community comes this weekly post. Please use this post to list website popbacks that you see on your wishlist, via search engines, or in your shopping cart. Dissecting Anthropologie's summer 2013 website overhaul

What's new? Anthropologie's website. As is their way every 6 months or so Anthro snuck out a mini-redesign a couple of weeks ago. Let's take a closer look and talk about our likes and dislikes!

As promised, Anthropologie's SALE is back with new markdowns!!!

We're being spoiled by Anthropologie! For the second week in a row a sizable clothing markdown is here. It's not quite the epic set we had last week but there are plenty of fresh cuts worth reviewing after the jump.

Playing the Sale Guessing Game

Update: there's another sizable sale on the way tomorrow!

Last week's sale was a huge home run! There were fresh cuts, 2nd/3rd/etc cuts and some glorious popbacks to be had. All that goodness leaves me wondering how there could possibly be more sale tomorrow. Anthropologie's certainly surprised us in the past! So while I don't expect any fresh cuts in the morning it's time to play the Sale Guessing Game anyway -- just in case.

Although our Reader Outfits are always awesome in their outfit styling I have to say the photography is totally top-notch this week! Makes the looks all the more enjoyable, though as an iPhone aficionada myself I can see the appeal of both high-tech and low-tech photography. Lots of Anthropologie eye candy to enjoy today! What do you think of this week's looks?

Examining Anthropologie's new arrivals + some sales around the web

With this week's huge sale and the unveiling of the Anthropologie Archival Collection (discussed here) my editorial calendar's been thrown off a bit. Coming up in a few days we'll have a look at Anthro's website changes. But first, a few days later than I'd planned, let's take a look at some of Anthropologie's new arrivals for this week! Also in this post a few of my wishlists from around the web and a some sales that I'm shopping big time to complete my summer closet.

Free Shipping is back at Anthropologie!

Anthropologie seems to be reading our minds these days. I was just thinking that this weekend usually includes a free shipping period and was wondering if Anthro would come through. And they have, beginning a day early! That's right -- FREE SHIPPING is back on Anthropologie's website!

Reviews: Loving Lilka! (Construct Maxi Dress, Esme Spacedye Dress, Sapelo Maxi Dress, Arcata Maxi Dress, Empress Dress)

Lilka's got a beautiful bevy of dresses at Anthropologie.
In this set, trying on the Construct Maxi Dress ($88) and a few more.

I've been consistently impressed by Lilka's offerings at Anthropologie as of late, so much so that I managed to cobble together an entire reviews set with their stuff! Inside, a few dresses that are online and a few that are not. All of them are lovely.

Reviews: Taryn Crepe Shift, Peach Blossom Dress, Zola Shift, At Dusk Dress, French Stripe Column Dress, Elizabeth Zebra Dress

The Bailey 44 cascade shows no sign of abating. And yet, I love each and every dress!
The French Stripe Column Dress ($178) gets its turn in the review wringer.

As much as I enjoy whining when there's not much temptation on the racks of Anthropologie stores, the truth is that it's far more dangerous when I like everything I try on. You may not want to click into this reviews set -- there's a lot of goodies coming out of Anthropologie's dress designs right now!

You have been warned.

Well, well, Anthropologie's turning 20 in October and to celebrate they're re-releasing some of their classic items. A pre-shop page just went up for Anthro members and I've got some extra details from the home office.

Anthropologie's SALE is really heating up!!!

As expected, the first round of post-Tag Sale markdowns is huge! Then again I suppose this way around is better for my budget! And if you were hoping for further cuts this week's a winner for you too! Inside, the freshest cuts...

My sale senses are tingling today. I've been to nearly every NYC Anthropologie this week and it's all new, new, new out on the floor. Which means there's lots of old clogging up backstock and I think it's clearly time for another round of clothing markdowns. Do you agree? Does Anthro agree?!? What do you think will happen tomorrow? Let's play the Sale Guessing Game and hypothesize!

I'm thrilled to be hosting a giveaway!

Up for grabs is this pair of Filigree Pearl earrings shown above. These delicate stunners are versatile enough for everyday wear but elegant enough for a night out. Pearls are my sorority's jewel and I'd wear these both to work and then with my hair pulled back for after-work soirees.

3 - Blog or tweet about this contest. Just be sure to link to your post/tweet in your comment/email.

The not-so fine print: You are entering to win one (1) pair of Filigree Pearl earrings as described in this post. This prize may not be exchanged for cash. Once contacted, the winner has 72 hours to claim the prize. International entrants welcome!

The contest will close on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at 5 PM ET. The winner will be announced on Tuesday, July 16, 2013  or thereabouts. Good luck to all!

Reviews: Avani Buttondown, Blushed Solstice Shell, Diamond Lace Peplum Shirt, Emilia Peplum Top, Striped Persephone Tank

Anthropologie keeps churning out peplum tops and I keep trying them on.
The Blushed Solstice Shell ($88), reviewed.

From bottoms earlier this week we now turn to tops in this Anthropologie reviews set!

Reviews: Citizens Of Humanity Dani Crop Jeans, Level 99 Wide-Legs, Ruled Charlie Trousers, Paige Jimmy Jimmy Skinny Jeans, Pilcro Superscript Daisy Jeans

Suddenly all I want are cuffed jeans.
The Dani Crop Jeans ($154-$228) by Citizens of Humanity are a fabulous option.

Every so often I'll brave Anthropologie's pants assortment for some reviews. Inside, I was pleasantly pleased by a number of options...

Reviews: Amalia Tulle Skirt, Emeline Tulle Skirt, Hexprint Maxi Skirt, Minted Terra Skirt, Geoblock Midi Skirt

Whatever, Anthropologie.

In this Anthropologie skirt reviews set, the Amalia Tulle Skirt ($188) and more go for a whirl! I wish I could say this set contains raves and grandeur...I'm saving the really good stuff for later this week.

Guest Post: Anthropologie Beaded Locket DIY by Elise!

Learn how to make your own version of
Anthropologie's Beaded & Dotted Locket ($58) for much less.

Please join me in welcoming Elise to EA for this tutorial! This post is very photo-heavy.

When I saw this little gem online at Anthropologie, I was smitten. But then I saw the price ($58) and then I saw how big the locket is in a model photo, and it suddenly just wasn’t my thing. But then I started thinking – that would be simple to make in the size I envisioned it, and probably cheaper too! I’m still pretty amateur at jewelry making, but I handled this project with no problem, and you can too, if, like me, you find the original too large, or if you want a different color combination, or you just want to make your own!

Playing the {Tag Sale} Guessing Game

Note: It's a home sale this week! Check out the fresh cuts here.

Could there be more sale coming tomorrow? That's what I'm wondering as the extra 20% off sale items promotion expires tonight at 11:59 ET. Anthropologie is keeping us guessing, that's for sure! At all the stores I've been to the sale rooms are stocked but the items are mostly the leftovers that didn't catch on with customers. Same deal online. I'm eager for some more warm-weather markdowns.

What do you think will happen tomorrow? Let's play the Sale Guessing Game and hypothesize!
