Etsy Cruise: Jewelry & A Contest!

Hello from snowy Vermont! I may be on vacation but I'm not leaving the community out in the cold. Feeling a little Etsy after this morning's guest post? Let's do a little more cruising and then it's time for a contest! The theme of this Etsy jewelry cruise? The sky and beyond.

tiposcreations's Etsy store

Let's begin our jewelry cruise at the center of the universe, shall we? That would of course be the sun and this brilliant mixed precious metal soleil has won me over. Lately gold and silver mixes have been capturing my attention (and my wallet) more than pieces made of either or. At 1" the necklace is small and I love the idea of wearing it as the eye-catching finisher to a date night outfit.

Also helping? The seller is located in South Dennis, MA which makes me nostalgic for my childhood summers on Cape Cod. Plenty of sunny days on those trips!

MOON and STAR necklace by LoveJewelryByJ

After the sun our next stop is the moon and once again a mix of silver and gold tones has made my wishlist. This tiny little charm duo would look lovely on a kid, an adult, any age really! Like the night's stars which look like bright dots to us on Earth this necklace is best viewed up close. This is the kind of necklace I'd wear surfing or while out doing activities -- small enough not to hit me or get in the way yet undeniably cute.

Sometimes stars explode in a brilliant flash of light into starbursts, the next kind of necklace I've been lusting after recently. I couldn't pick just one so above are five options I really like. The Copper Starburst could be interpreted as any number of things but has a very cool vibe. The next two are more literal interpretations to me, one with vintage flair and the last with a modern and stunning take. The fourth charm is tiny with a more innocent take on gaseous beams of light. What can I say? I'm a sucker for starbursts with pretty crystals in the middle. The last option is probably the simplest but also the most elegant in my mind. I love the idea of the North Star always guiding the way and the reminder that provides when worn around my neck.

From the heavens to the sky where weather is next on my mind. Doesn't this beautiful Victorian necklace remind you of a raindrop? It's from EA sponsor Bellflower Bay Jewelry. The jade beads lining the drop are so pretty and it should come as no surprise that I adore the drop crystal in the middle of the drop. How lovely would this necklace be peaking out of a work outfit under a blazer? Or as the finishing touch for a night-out look? The ideas are already seeded in my imagination.

Admittedly my hunt for a cloud lariat necklace started not as my own idea but after seeing this beautiful Peggy Li necklace worn by Lucy Liu on a recent Elementary episode. (Who else wants Lucy Liu's entire wardrobe from that show? The wardrobe person is killing it! I want to do a set visit and interview them.) Before I knew who made that exact necklace I started my hunt for a lookalike on Etsy. The two options you see above were the closest I came to finding an approximation. It's hard to decide between the top raindrop version with its cute pearl on the chain and the equally adorable teardrop falling off or the bottom lightning version which probably appeals to my Aquarian affinity for lightning and the charge it brings about. Which one would you pick?

Yes it's still winter outside and this winter baby loves it! Snowflake necklaces are not uncommon so what makes this one special? Probably it's three dimensions of pretty. This is a tiny charm, perfect to wear on a day like today where I'm hopefully on the Vermont slopes as you're reading this. Like a few of the other pieces I've highlighted today it's a mix of gold and silver. I wish the chain were a little nicer but the seller laonato indicates that there are other options, so hopefully I could pick something that's more fitting for the pretty little charm.

After winter comes spring and my mind is already drifting ahead to the coming days when flowers will once again be in bloom. Luckily in the jewelry world we don't have to wait to April or May for blooms. We can wear them anytime. I was first introduced to norahjewelry by a community member a few years back. (Thanks Marcela!) For a time Anthropologie carried some similar creations. Although large and perhaps not to everyone's taste these amazing creations look great with a party dress or for a big event. Right now I'm majorly crushing on the necklace you see above. It even comes with matching earrings!

One thing's for sure. After cruising around Etsy I'm itching to pull the trigger on something. Maybe you are too? It can only mean one thing: it's time for a contest!!!
