I love weddings as much as the next girl. So when I heard that Anthro was coming out with a bridal line I let out a scream that I am pretty sure was only heard by dogs... But, also being the food nerd I am, my mind quickly progressed from wondering what the dresses would look like to wondering if there would also be matrimonially appropriate tableware.
Loathe to wait the many months to find out, I decided to take matters into my own hands and develop my own wedding mood boards picking from Anthro's current diningware and home product offerings.
I am a huge fan of small intimate weddings. Funnily enough the last few weddings of friends have been decidely tiny affairs. There's something very precious about small weddings, it allows for the details to be that much more unique and personal. It's that special feel that I was hoping to convey with my choices..hopefully you will be inspired!
The Simple, Beautiful Backyard Reception

With nature as the backdrop, a simply backyard reception calls for minimal patterns, colours that occur in nature and encourages moderate informality. I love the idea of having the wishing well bucket as a possible table piece, filled with ice and vintage soda bottles! Low aged herb pots grouped form a center piece when filled with flowers from where else but Styers at Terrain? The details are all simple, beautiful and yet not too delicate for the back garden!

There is a reason why as kids we love funfairs (or State Fairs as they are often called in the USA). The visual assault of colours as well as patterns that sometimes match, sometimes don't keep us visually stimulated. I love how Anthro has many visually fun dinnerware options in their collection! The HornBill pitcher, De Vincennes Octopus dinnerplates, bendy flatware and paradox planter. All a little bizzare and fun - invoking the spirit of excitement that comes from a day at the fair and a perfect collection for someone bold enough to have a bright bold wedding reception.

Vintage can, if unrestrained get a little out of control and look like the mish mosh end result of a day at a flea market. Keeping the colour pallete restrained - just white, blue and copper in this case. The details simple - the fleur-de-lys dinnerplate, the legs on the Beast Feast turreen, the etching on the Horta champagne glass and the slightly weathered Metals and Petal Vase, the result is tasteful and yet interesting without being kitschy.
