Reviews: Feathery Tank, Stratus Cloud Top, Sail-The-Seven V-Neck

Ruffles and flowers and a bib ready for Spring.

RicRac offers up the Feathery Tank ($68) in three colors, and I had a hard time picking just one to try on. I know some are starting to tire of the ruffle trend but I love 'em. The grey version of this top would be perfect to wear as a layer now but in the interest of photography I chose to try on the ivory.

Not sure if RicRac's running smaller this year or if I'm (ahem) running bigger but I tried on a medium and it fit perfectly. Normally I size down to a small in RicRac. The material is heathered and translucent. I would want to wear a cami underneath. The bib also needed a good steaming to get the flowers to sit down correctly.

I'm undecided on this top. There are more ruffles than I'd like but the shape and the fit of the top seem right. Wishlisted for now for further consideration.

My pleasant surprise of the day was Red Bird's Stratus Cloud Top ($78). I had been hoping to use my birthday discount on this but wanted to try it on first. Yesterday was the first time I'd seen it in-store. J.Crew had a similar top over the summer that was more structured and the fit wasn't quite right on me. But this top is made of tee shirt material with thin strips of chiffon layered over it. As a result the fit is much more giving.

My true size medium was perfect. This top didn't photograph very well. It looked much better in person! Right now this top would work well as a layer. Later on it will work well with shorts or a skirt -- or maybe even under a jumper. Wishlisted.

This sailor-inspired top is Dear Creatures' Sail-The-Seven V-Neck ($88). I like the sharp, architectural lines and the denim color. I grabbed a size medium to try on. The top fit everywhere except around my hips. The cut is very straight up and down and not kind to my pear shape. Still, the top is quite nice and I think it might be worth it to size up to a large. This one would look terrific with a pencil skirt.

Anyone else super excited for the LOST premiere tonight? Can't remember the last time I was this excited about a TV show, if ever.
