How tall do we think this model is? 5'10"? 5'8"? Note the length of the Emmer Corset Top ($78) on her. She must have an incredibly short torso.

Because on me this top barely cleared my belly button. Either that or there was some catalog photo shoot trickery going on which gets a serious frowny face from me. I know that Kim had the same issues while trying the top on (although for the record I think the halter looks great on her!). The length discrepancy between catalog and real life is ridiculous though. Did they use a 12-year-old as the fit model?
Still, I like Floreat's halter top. I think that with a high-waisted skirt or the right camisole underneath it would look lovely. Let there be no doubt I would have appreciated another three inches of material wholly. But in absence of a tall version of this top those are the options. The wheat pattern is charming and the eyelet bottom trim is a very nice touch. I sized up to an 8 for the best fit. I simply refuse to pay full price and encourage this shortness but on sale I'll probably grab this one.

I had my suspicions that this is exactly what the Frills & Stripes Blouse ($88) would look like on. Attack of the frill monster. This shirt is by Blue Robin and it's very well made. The waist sat on my natural waist -- hooray! -- and the buttons match the color of the shirt exactly. I like the subtle stripes and the straight cut of the shoulders. I think the ruffles were just a bit too overpowering for me. My true size 6 was a close but comfortable fit.

Girls From Savoy bring us the lovely colorblocked Into The Night Blouse ($88). The fit on this top is going to be tricky on any curves. If you have any tummy at all the lower portion is going to accentuate it. If you have a chest the darker color of the upper portion balances it somewhat but it can look cartoonish against the tapered shape of the waist. Miraculously, this shirt worked on me. I honestly have no idea how. I sized up to an 8 for length but the fit was perfect.
A couple of the reviews note that this shirt is polyester and I agree that's just unacceptable. 2009 was the year of designers skimping on materials. Let's not continue this habit into 2010, OK Anthro? I expect high-quality materials from this store and I won't settle for anything less at these price points. I will not buy this top at full price but at $40 polyester might be a bit easier to swallow.
