Reviews & Outfits: Thousand Days Skirt

Drool. That one word could be the entire post right there. Odille's Thousand Days Skirt ($78) makes me happy in so many ways. I love the color. I love the length. I love the shape, which is reminiscent of J.Crew's Belle Skirt from last fall. And Odille is wise: this skirt comes in both regular and petite sizes.

Your preferred size will vary depending on how you want to wear it. I wanted the waist to sit at my natural waist so I sized down to a 6. If you want it to sit high hip I'd recommend sticking true to size. If you want it low hip size up one size. The colors represented online are true to color. I tried on both in-store and wanted to take both home.

I settled on the blue. I thought it would be fun to show some different outfit options that I plan to wear this skirt in. Like Polyvore but in real life. My self-moddle photography skills fall below Gigi's, Chloe's and Ms. A Bigger Closet's but you get the idea. I am still trying to figure out where to put the full-length mirror to get the light in the photos right.

Above is my winter option -- I'm sporting J.Crew's Cashmere Heirloom Henley from last winter in black, an Esprit espresso leather belt, the Thousand Days skirt in blue and J.Crew's Serengeti Peep Toes from last winter in cool graphite. This skirt has copious amounts of fabric so it's important to balance it with something more streamlined on top.

Here's a fall option. This time the skirt is paired with a Michael Kors cami I bought five or so years ago; Banana Republic's Crewneck Cardigan and Payless shoes' Pink Polka Dotted Peeps. The challenge is finding a top that isn't too long because of the way the skirt just floofs out. This one is pretty close.

Finally here's an outfit for now. Again with the J.Crew -- I paired the skirt with the Cherie Polka Dot Top and the Liza patterned peep toes. I tucked in the Cherie top and bloused it out a bit. Just an airy, simple look for late summer.
